Taking the Biggest Risk of My Life at 18, Moving to Nagpur with Just ₹10,000

I’m 18 years old and seriously considering one of the biggest decisions of my life: moving to Nagpur to build a better future.

I come from a programming background and have taught myself the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js). However, I have no professional experience yet.

I want to move because I believe Nagpur offers better opportunities, a growing IT sector, and much higher earning potential than where I currently live.

The challenge is that I only have ₹10,000 in savings.

That money will need to cover:

  • Travel to Nagpur
  • PG accommodation
  • Food
  • Basic daily expenses

From what I’ve calculated, this gives me roughly one month of runway, so I’ll need to be extremely disciplined with my spending and focused on finding a job as quickly as possible.

I’m willing to work hard and do whatever it takes to make this move successful.

My Questions

  1. Is this a smart decision, or am I taking too much risk?
  2. How realistic is it to find an entry-level job in Nagpur within one month?
  3. What’s the best way to approach the job search once I arrive?
  4. Can anyone recommend budget-friendly PGs or hostels in Nagpur for someone starting out?

Any advice, suggestions, or personal experiences would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance!
