🎲 Thank You, Redditors! Another Amazing Board Games Meet-Up! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined our impromptu Board Games Meet-Up, organized by Reddit Nagpur and Nagpur Board Games Club!

What's even more amazing is that this meetup was announced just 4 hours before the event, and despite the short notice, 22 awesome people showed up. The response honestly exceeded our expectations!

It was great to see both familiar faces and first-time attendees come together for an afternoon of strategy, laughter, and meeting new people. We also introduced and played some new board games this time, making the experience even more exciting for everyone.

These meetups are proof that you don't need weeks of planning to build a wonderful community—you just need people who are excited to connect over great games.

A big thank you to everyone who took time out of their Sunday to join us. Your enthusiasm and support continue to help this community grow.

If you couldn't make it this time, don't worry—there are plenty more meetups coming soon. Keep an eye on the subreddit and join us for the next game day!

See you at the next meetup! 🎲❤️

Shouldn't there be someone managing the traffic at this junction?

This random Tin Collector was managing this Power House junction from last 30 min!

Soo I commute by city bus every day from the Power House stop near Dighori Chowk, and one thing genuinely baffles me.

Ever since the flyover construction began, this junction has become an absolute nightmare. Every single day it's the same spectacle, buses, autos, bikes, trucks, and cars all competing for the same patch of road, resulting in complete gridlock. What's even more bewildering is that there's rarely anyone present to regulate the traffic.

Since KCC Group is handling the flyover project on this stretch, shouldn't traffic management be part of the plan? A single person directing vehicles during peak hours could make a noticeable difference.

Earlier, my bus would cross this stretch in around 20–25 minutes. Now it routinely takes 40–45 minutes, sometimes even longer. And it's not just this junction, Manewada Square and parts of the road towards Omkar Nagar often face the same issue.

Is there any way to raise this with the Traffic Police or NMC? Or is this simply the inconvenience we have to endure until the construction is completed?

I'd like to know if others commuting through this route feel the same.

Sunday Crowd at C7

Why was there such a huge crowd at C7 (Lokmat Square) on Sunday evening? Was there anything happening or was it just the usual weekend rush?

The Math Doesn't Math: The True Cost of India's E20 Ethanol Policy

Suppose you have an e10 car. The price of e10 petrol is 100 Rs/l. your car gives a mileage of 20kmpl and you drive 100kms a day.

fuel needed 100/20 = 5 liters

cost of fuel = 100 x 5 = 500

Now government starts blending petrol with 20% ethanol, the price of petrol is same and your usage is also same.

As per the some experts, you will feel a drop of 10% in the mileage( my real life experience tells me that the fuel efficiency goes down by 20% min). But we will take 10% dip in mileage just to respect our ethanol mantri.

now to drive 100 kms with e20 blending, the price is

Fuel needed 100/18 = 5.56 liters.

cost of fuel = 5.56 x 100 = 556.

We will not talk about that the e20 fuel government is selling you is at the same price of e10 and the government is actually saving 4 rupees on every liter as blending grade ethanol is 40% cheaper than petrol if we even consider e10 as pure petrol.

So you will be paying 56 rupees per day just for the sustainability. But is this blending actually sustainable?

So ethanol is majorly extracted from 3 sources and we will, from end to start calculate the water used in making 1 liter of ethnol

Rice-based Ethanol: Up to 10,790 liters of water per liter of ethanol (since growing paddy requires enormous groundwater irrigation).

Sugarcane-based Ethanol: 1,600 to 3,600 liters of water.

Corn/Maize-based Ethanol: 10 to 17 liters in rain-fed regions (like parts of the US), but up to 4,670 liters if grown in highly irrigated areas.

Sugarcane based production wastes less amount of water and our ethanol minister also owns sugar mills just for saving water, so our calculations will be based on that.

So you are using 5.56 liters of e20 petrol as compared to 5 liters e10 petrol. so in this 5.56 liters of petrol, the quantity of ethanol when you consider e10 as pure petrol.

10% of 5.56 = 556ml of ethanol.

The sugarcane takes around 1600-3600 liters of water, but as we are fan of our ethanol mantri, we will calculate the wastage on 1600 liters.

Amount of water wasted to make 556ml of ethanol

0.556 liters × 1,600 liters = 889.6 liters

In short you are wasting 889 liters of water every day in a country having water scarcity in many parts, just for what? for the sake of sustainability and prosperity of our beloved mantri ji.

But the story does not end here

Lets talk about the pure petrol you are using in both the cases

CASE 1 When you are using e10 petrol, driving 100km @ 100 rupees per liter price and fuel consumption is 5 liter.

90% of 5 liter = 4.500 liters of pure petrol

CASE 2 When you are using e20 petrol, driving 100km @ 100 rupees per liter price and fuel consumption is 5.56 liter

80% of 5.56 liter = 4.448 liters of pure petrol.

So if we calculate the net difference in petrol

4.500 - 4.448 = 0.0052 liters

Guys you are saving 52 ml of petrol import and wasting 889.6 liters of water in your daily commute, that too if you drive cars like alto, wagon r (even they dont give 20kmpl in city on ac).

We will not talk about the maintenance aspect, as it will hurt your bum more.

I rest my case here, if you have any questions, or my calculations are wrong somewhere, comments are welcome.

Anyone interested in exploring the local food scene together?

Hey everyone,
I’m a medical student, and with a pretty demanding schedule of exams and clinical work who’s currently on vacation haha. my favorite way to decompress is by hunting down great food and exploring new places around the city.

I’m looking for a fellow food enthusiast who’s down to team up and check out spots(since I am new to the city and not familiar with it)! Whether it’s tracking down the best local street food, trying out newly opened cafes, or just grabbing a snack after a long day, I'm up for it all.

A bit about me:
I'm fairly busy during the week with the medical grind, so weekends or relaxed evenings work best for me.
I'm open to trying a wide variety of cuisines—from hidden local gems to the popular upscale joints.
Always down for good conversations, whether we're debating the best tari poha(btw I’m against it) in town or just chatting about life and work.
If you're a foodie looking for a low-pressure buddy to explore (or help me explore) the local food scene with, drop a comment or shoot me a DM! Let me know if you already have a bucket list of places you’ve been wanting to try.

Cheers!

Are Pune - Mumbai Teens / Kids Overall Smarter Than Vidarbha Kids?

So, I heard someone in my family talk on this topic. The common theme was "Pune/Mumbai youngsters are generally smarter than those from Vidarbha".

- They have more exposure

- They are more aware

- The make better impression.

For the record's sake: I don't agree with this. I'd however like to hear from fellow members what they think?

Stop this ASAP, it's not fun!!

If you ever get even a single thought like, 'Let's just try it once, what’s the worst that could happen?' just stop right there. Those totos are carrying actual passengers. Someone needs to get to school, college, the office, or even a hospital on time. For the drivers, that vehicle is their livelihood. I understand the frustration people have because of these drivers and their behaviour, but if the vehicle suddenly breaks down out of nowhere, it could even cause a serious accident. You just never know. So, the moment you feel like doing it 'just for fun,' check yourself and stop
