[Prompt/Discussion] Tired of SIs going for vampires and wolves—give me an OC who is 100% dedicated to Charlie Swan!
I am honestly so tired of self-insert / OC female characters in Twilight fanfiction falling for the same old vampires and shape-shifters.
What I really want is an SI/OC girl who bypasses the supernatural drama entirely because her only target from day one is Charlie Swan. Man deserves someone who actually appreciates him!
I've been outlining a specific reveal scene in my head and wanted to get people's thoughts on it.
Picture this: Bella comes back after her transformation, super dramatic and intense, ringing the front door to explain her "condition" and talk to her father.
An OC answers the door wearing one of Charlie's oversized flannel shirts. Bella is completely bewildered and urgently demands to see her dad.
Instead of getting frantic, the OC just casually turns toward the stairs and yells: "Daddy! Come here for a second!"
From upstairs, Charlie yells back: "Yes, coming, sweetheart! Just looking for my boots!"
And while they're waiting for him to walk down the stairs, the OC turns back to a frozen, newborn vampire Bella, smiles, and whispers:
"You know I call him daddy, too?"
Would anyone else read a fic with this premise, or have recommendations for SIs where Charlie is the actual main love interest? How would you build up to this scene?
