New WGU Accounting Student — What Should I Be Doing to Become Employable?

Hi. I am a student here at WGU studying accounting. I entered the school last month as a transfer from another college. I’m just now taking my first accounting class. I signed up for VITA for the upcoming tax season and will soon enter training for it. I am greatly concerned about the job market (I am from the NYC area) and worry that VITA won’t be enough for future employers to consider me. Has anyone here ever felt this way? If so, what should I be doing?

Howdy.

I’m considering going to WGU and wanted to ask about what should I expect. Coming from a CUNY to WGU. Going to get a bachelors in accounting.

What is the academic support like? (e.g tutoring)

How long did it take you to complete the degree?

How many hours a week did you dedicate?
