Il Bluche

Il Bluche

Y'all ever wonder how fascists get in power, the DoR just did it. This could be an entire 3 hour long doctorate thesis on how insanely text book this is, and the government and players CHOSE this.

>Crisis

>government freezes

>Unable to handle basic channels of government

>Bourgeoise Executive roles not doing their job

>Executive branch unable to function save for the president.

>Bourgeois Parliament stalled due to partisan politicians

>Bourgeois Socdem social fascists disguised as"for the worker" calls for strike, abandons at the first whiff of responsibility for it.

>Middle class petite bourgeois upset that workers strike

>judges, corrupt and also have been bogged down

>everyone else throws their hands in the air and goes "you take care of it for us"

Deodorant Syndrome.

During an interview with u/Erik_Alert404 yesterday, it was disclosed that he lost the Primaries due to “pity votes” for Nathanc and sea-fridge, with party members themselves saying it would be “the first election they win of 2026.”

I don't disagree that the entire parliament is elitist, and has been since its inception. I've argued for legislative term limits, and I've voted for smaller candidates when I can.

Let’s be honest about what this actually is.

The UP argued against the Equality in Democracy Act, insisting that elections should be based purely on merit. No quotas. No structural fixes. No “identity politics.” Just merit, apparently.

But the moment you actually look at how they operate, this argument falls apart.

They claim merit matters, but then push aside a more active, more engaged, and more qualified player like Erik, an openly LGBT member who actually participates and contributes in favour of people who are either less competent or openly controversial, including individuals with racist and transphobic histories.

So what exactly is “merit” here? Because it clearly isn’t being applied consistently. It only seems to matter when it justifies keeping them in power and not having to talk to women.

And then there’s the proportional representation issue. They rejected it for women entirely, arguing that elections must be based on merit. Fine. But in a 110-player game with zero women(?) in the UP, that argument already looks shaky at best.

Then, when proportional representation is brought up, their response is basically: “What if everyone swaps gender for a free seat?”

That isn’t a serious argument. That’s just grasping at straws to avoid dealing with the actual reality in front of them. You don’t go from zero equal representation to “system will be gamed” without admitting you’re just looking for reasons to keep yourselves in power.

And on top of that, there’s the broader pattern of behaviour that’s been shown before: women being mocked after leaving, targeted after inactivity, and harassment only being treated as a problem when it becomes inconvenient or public. Not consistently enforced. Not seriously dealt with. Just managed when it looked bad.

So it brings the obvious question back again:

Do they actually care about merit? Because if they do, they wouldn't hand out pity votes
Do they care about equality? Because if they did, they wouldn’t have voted down the Equality in Democracy Act.

What it looks like instead is a coalition that screams one thing publicly, hugs each other internally, and only remembers its principles when it’s useful to justify whatever decision has already been made.

Call it merit if you want. But it doesn’t behave like it.
