So after watching this new episode, a thought came to mind which made sense at first, until I thought about it for more than a minute.

My initial thought process was that Jon was sent back to save his father's life and prevent the Cyborggedon (you can have that one for free). But if Superman was supposed to die, but Jon was still born… does that mean Lois is already pregnant?

But then I remembered that Jon had a photo of Baby Jon with both of his very-much-alive parents, not to mention the possibility that something caused these events to happen much sooner than anticipated.

TL:DR My own theory was debunked by me.

After months of intermittent play, I have finally collected every Sqauwks Statue and nearly all the unlockables in Emerald Rush mode. Suffice to say, I'm having a great time.

That being said, I have one major change in mind that I think would add a lot to the act of collecting these very detailed trophies: Descriptions. If Smash Bros. has taught me anything, it's that a little statuette flavor text goes a long way. For example:

Crockoid: The foot soldiers of Void Co.'s corporate army. They may look intimidating, even after DK breaks their armor open, but one punch will send them flying!

Cranky Kong: How did this old-timer get so far down? If you listen carefully, you might just find out... or get put right to sleep!

Abracajabya: The source of the poison afflicting the Forest Layer, this wicked wallflower prefers to stay high and dry, and let her vines do the talking.

Flying King K. Rool: When it comes to K. Rool, it's never over until it's over! With the All-Mine Remote in hand and a propeller pack on his back, he won't rest until the Banandium Root is his!

Obviously, the Fractone descriptions would all be in rhyme.

Stufftone: Maps and balloons, juices untold! They've got the stuff if you've got the Gold!

Fragmentone: They can't quite pull themself together... Give them a hand, they'll be grateful forever!

Quiztone: A bowler and tie, what festive digs! Answer their questions, you're sure to win big!

This evening, I finished a FemShep playthrough of the Legendary Edition (this time of year always gets me in the mood for Mass Effect), and this time, I was loyal to Liara the whole way through. And I won't be doing that again.

It was enjoyable enough during 1 and 2 (Lair of the Shadow Broker in particular becoming much more compelling with the context of romance), but by the time of 3, our relationship had lost its spark. Narratively speaking, I mean. After going with Garrus and Tali in previous playthroughs (and a little fling with Samantha ❤️), I had expected more of my interactions with Dr. T'Soni to be different in some significant way, but they weren't. As Gertrude Stein would say, there was no there there.

This became especially notable in the Citadel DLC. Where a romanced Tali sang along to Sam Hulick's virtuosic love theme and a romanced Garrus roped Shepard into a thrilling tango, Liara had the same piano scene as before. It felt routine, predictable. Our relationship was in a rut, and I found myself an emotionally unfaithful wreck, yearning for my college crush who showed up when we were on a break (read: Vakarian).

I didn't intend for this to become a Dear John, but even in writing, I just can't keep lying to myself. We were always better as friends, Liara. I'm sorry I didn't realize that sooner, I'm sorry I led you on for three years, and I'm sorry the writers didn't give you anything cool to do in the third act.

I'll be at your cabin at 2100 hours to pick up my N7 hoodie.
