Should I watch the show?

I'm not really into classic Superheroes that much but there was a time that I enjoyed watching Superman: The Animated series on Toonami.

Also I've been recommended this sub where people are praising the show and saying how this Superman is inspiring and is faithful to how his character was initially written.

Also I see people say how he's a paragon of hope and he's usually positive.

I happen to like protagonists like that (eg I like Tanjiro Kamado and Steven Universe)

Do I need to be familiar with other continuities of Superman to fully enjoy this show? Because I a major reason I shy away from superhero stuff because of the sheer content that one character contains and how they connect to other characters in a universe like in the MCU.

Sorry if this post seems silly.

Would you be interested in a backstreet episode about Jor-El and Lara like Invincible S4E2 or The Avatar and the Firelord?

Lex Luthor with curtains is kind of a vibe.

I know the concept art and poster show him without hair, so he‘s going to lose it, but I gotta be honest, I kinda like this look for Lex!

I hope he keeps it! It’s something different for the character, in a way that I think kinda works, especially for this version.

People believe in Clark’s goodness

I love that even people who distrust Superman truly believe that Clark Kent would be nothing more than a good person who would help people if he had the powers of Superman.*

It’s very funny, and kind of wholesome.

(*Yes, I’m aware that Lex saying “you probably would” is partially a backhanded compliment, but it was also genuine. He knows how good of a man Clark is.)

Do you think he’ll pop up this season?

The eradicator protocol was mentioned in season 2 and brainiac CPU is still around. Plus concept art shows a character that might be him he is the only one out of the four supermen not to show up yet.

MAWS Lex needs a little more oomph.

I do like this version of Lex, I think this kinda kid techie quickly rising to power thing is done very well, but he needs a bit more of an edge to stand out, like the immense charisma and presence Clancy Brown had, or the aura farming/insanity of Nicholas Hoult.

Personally, I’d give him bit of a Megamind flare. Make him really showy when he gives a presentation or enters a battle, but super cold and menacing when he’s face to face with Superman.

Seeing as how he’s prominently featured on the poster, and the concept art for season 3, I get a feeling well get to see more of him, and flesh him out more.

What do you hope they do with him, and what could they do to make him stand out a bit more?

A Slight Change to Kara's New Suit That Really Fixes a Few Issues

To preface, I really enjoy Kara's new suit. I think I speak for just about everyone when I say that her scarf-cape is a unique and great part of her design. And now, we have the addition of one of Supergirl's most iconic design elements, which is her skirt. Having it be more romanesque in its design is a really unique take on her iconic skirt while also having it fit this rendition of the character.

However, I said I really enjoy it. I don’t love it. At first I couldn't pinpoint exactly what was turning me off. After thinking about it, I determined that it was the shoulders. I truly think that the red shoulders messes up this suit entirely. It creates an imbalance of red and blue, making the red feel overbearing. It disrupts the flow of the design by distracting your eyes back towards the shoulders. Finally, I believe it's also responsible for also making the skirt look worse; the yellow accents suddenly seemed to feel much more natural and pop way more once the shoulders were changed.

Of course, that's all just my two cents, and two cents isn't really worth all that much. So, let me know what you guys think!

Edit: Democracy has spoken! Census states that the main problem is just straight up the skirt, lol. Well, I've got nothing to say to that, totally fair!

Also, PPS: looking back at it, the way I titled this post directly implies that my opinion is somehow just objectively correct. Total horseshit and up my own ass too! Would change it if I could 🫤

Lex docked his pay before or after this and Slade doesn’t give a single damn 😂

He’s gonna build or hire Mercy after this and passive aggressively ignore the pissing contest between her and slade.
