Fixing my new kitchen backsplash (please help)

About 3 weeks ago I got a beautiful new blue Italian tile backsplash in the kitchen ($$$). On Saturday night, my 19 y/o son went out with his friends and got back quite late at night. He was *inebriated* when he got back home and thought it would be hilarious to smear wet cement mix all over the backsplash. He works at a construction company and came home with some of the mix the other day. Now, the cement is hardened all over the new backsplash and I have no idea what to do. I cannot afford to re-do the backsplash, so I want to try and save it. I already tried sanding it off, but the cement just broke the sander. If anyone has ANY ideas, I would love to hear them. This is breaking my heart (and my wallet).

Fixing a delicate situation

Hello - I recently met my partner's extended family (she is Norwegian) and I ran into a problematic situation. A few days before meeting the family, my friend thought it would be funny to tell me that "hallo kjerring" means "nice to meet you" in Norwegian. Unsuspecting (and without verifying), I said this to her grandmother. I quickly realized that I may have offended her by saying this as she started yelling at me and threw her glass of water at me. My partner got really mad too and told me that hallo kjerring doesn't actually mean "nice to meet you". I feel horrible about this because I didn't mean to insult her the way I did. My partner doesn't want to speak to me about it and her family has banned me from their house.
I really don't know how to rectify the situation? Is there anything I can say or do? I've tried apologizing and explaining the situation but her family doesn't believe me. I am so upset and worried that this relationship hangs in the balance. Please help me. I would be so thankful.

Sourdough advice

Hello - I am looking for advice on how to fix my sourdough starter. I have been in the business of sourdough since the 2020 sourdough boom. I have been feeding it daily and it has been flourishing. Unfortunately, my 4y/o son mistook the powdered laundry detergent for flour when feeding my starter, and it has since gotten very sick (?). It is a dark green colour and smells of feet. Please advise. I would like to salvage my 5 y/o starter (which predates my son) if possible. Can I do this safely?
