How to make sure everyone gets good amount of talking time (asking as a dm)
Last night was my first dm session ever. I was not happy with the way it played out. I have a group of 5 but only one did most of the speaking. However, most of the speaking he did wasn't progressive to the group or quest; it was just nonsense he thought was funny. I didn't stop the game and tell him to be quiet and let others speak because that is exactly how drama and grudges start. At the end of the session I asked for feedback about how it went and 2 of them said I was hostile towards the guy who talked too much. I'll have to work on my patience but I don't know how to work on making sure everyone's voice is heard.
Suggestions/advice on 2 player game
I want to play a 2 person game with me and my wife. I’ve played plenty and understand the game but my wife has never played and wants to. Does anyone know any good campaigns or anything that we can sit down and play together. I’m not looking for something dark like Curse of Strahd cause that’s not her thing. Something lighter and more beginner friendly with some laughs
First time DM’ing is tomorrow and could use some advice
My friends and I all take turns being dm. Tomorrow is my first night and I’m a little nervous. I’ve been playing with the same group for over a year. I love them all but each has their quirk that annoys me. I have 2 guys who have main character syndrome. When we encounter npc’s they are always first to talk. I have 1 guy who always plays as a caster and constantly argues with the dm about how his spells worked. Any tips I can take to kindly handle them.
File naming convention
I wanted to get your guys opinion on naming conventions. Let’s say I have a folder called “api” and it contains a bunch of files but one index file for gathering everything together. Do you guys ever use naming conventions like _index.ts or something like to make sure index remains at the top of the folder?
