It's called Chanting Crowd, but this synth crowd actually sings whatever you play

it was like a dream I had since I started to create my sounds, having the possibility to simulate a crowd to sing my hooks and choruses. Many options out there with plug-ins or Artificial Intelligence, some pretty valid too ...this one is made through Vital Synth and actually follows a melody you play...and you can put in the words / syllables of your choice...

Is there any synth or fx chain to simulate chanting crowds?

I saw some on yt in the past, some are costy, some are way too articulate and difficult to make while the result does not cut it! I would like to have a crowd singing the hooks of my drops or some parts of the chorus.. but i cannot stack 40 people in my livingroom....or record myself over and over from every angle of the room....neighbours would call the police 🤣

Ever started Vital Synth to make a preset and ended up with a full track?

That's how it went.

I was trying to recreate the kick+bass interaction from "Drugs From Amsterdam" in Vital and had OBS running because I thought I might turn it into a tutorial later.

Instead, I started jamming with the patch, mapped a few controls, drifted away from the original sound, and after about 8 minutes I had a melody and the foundations of a totally new track.

I chopped together the best moments from the session and eventually turned them into my latest track, "La Piazza" (the vocals came later).

This video is a short summary of that process.

I've always found this a fun way to write music: start with a technical goal, then follow the accidents when something unexpected appears.

Do any of you end up writing tracks while you're supposedly just designing sounds?

Is anybody using Vital to play live?

I am trying some stuff to perform with Vital as a live instrument rather than just Studio use / preset, filling tracks. Has anyone ever thought about this?
