Reddit and artist struggles
How am I supposed to even get client or commissions when there’s like 100+ artists that are aiming for that 1 client’s arse😔✋🏻 I feel like giving up chat. The art and design market is just so cluttered and everyone seems to be doing every other thing every single day. This isn’t a rant but for the past 6-7 years digital artists and graphic designers have been increased massively in fact copy-artists who are just copying certain styles selling in cheap also steals away the original artist’s clients. And don’t even get me to AI, to be fair high ticket clients still buy human made stuff and I see generic ppl in comment section of instagram(who never bought or never will buy art) “prompt” “prompt” thinking they’ll be next artist of century. Additionally, people who charge like 10usd-100usd for their craft are infuriating (no shade to anyone) but I dislike this so much. It puts some mid level artists (me yes) in a position where I can’t increase my price from mediocre. I’m no pocket money making artist sorry to say, but I’m also not relying heavily on art obviously but having an income to save would help me a lot in my financial situation right now. I’ll still focus on improvement and understanding market. But one thing’s sure that this economy is just rigged
Career advice on design degrees / abroad settlement / jobs
I'm a designer from India with a portfolio combining branding, illustration, and currently learning motion design and Blender for 3D commercials. My long-term goal is to work internationally or eventually settle abroad with my dream job. (lets not talk about AI rn thats different thing thats affecting the market)
I have been researching stuff about universities in UK specifically
Financially, I would only consider a fully funded master's. Otherwise I'd rather spend the next few years building professional experience. I know fully funded aim might be unrealistic but the chances are never impossible (so before you come at me)
For people already working in design internationally:
- Did a design master's abroad significantly help your career?
- If you could start over, would you prioritize work experience instead?
- Have you or your colleagues been hired internationally without a master's?
- Is a strong portfolio and 3–5 years of experience generally more valuable than another degree?
- If your goal was eventually relocating abroad, which path would you choose today and why?
I'm interested in hearing both success stories and regrets.

Artist: me, medium: digital, Title: Vogue style
I have been invested in vogue style since last year due to my interest in design(typography) this was my first piece of vogue series and I still love this art! I have been trying to avoid anime-ish eyes so it has better face setting, im still trying to improve and learn.
