Hi guys, I’m dumb, don’t hate me.

I got a rather nice (I think) surprise with this letter from the VA. I had heard about Rudisill and Perkins, but I joined the Army when I was 17 and honestly everything’s a blur back then.

Then, randomly, my latest PGIB letter for the quarter came with an extra letter saying they’d reversed my MGIB election and I’d get this COE in the mail, which I just did.

All that to say, this letter says now I have 13 months and 2 days of benefits. My PGIB said I have 1 month and 2 days remaining, which of course aligns with the extra 12 months of MGIB.

My question is, it says 13 months.. did this random event just steal my last month of PGIB and roll it into the MGIB? (I didn’t apply for it, I was hit with the automatic decision.)

I probably sound horribly uninformed but I was confused about having 13 months and 2 days. I hope it means I can exhaust my PGIB and then have 12 months of MGIB.
