Why does Eric Kripke humiliate Homelander but treat Soldier Boy like a fantasy without many downsides?

I heard this theory that The Boys started portraying Homelander as more and more of a pathetic clown who constantly embarrasses himself just to mock the fans who were doing badass edits, fanboying over him, and all that. Fair enough.

But then why is Soldier Boy almost always portrayed as this cold alpha badass with barely any real downside? Isn't he supposed to portrayed fake, fragile masculinity of the 'good old times'? Is it harder for Eric Kripke to put Jensen Ackles in a genuinely humiliating or vulnerable position? And what happened with Soldier Boy's plot with MM, his racially-motivated crimes against him? They were never mentioned again.

Honestly, I could totally imagine Antony Starr's character saying thing like, “I’ll eat your shit I'll suck your dick omg I'll do whatever,” or doing that one Terror dram scene, but those kinds of lines or scenes feel like something Jensen Ackles would never be given. And I genuinely think Kripke has protected and favored Soldier Boy’s portrayal because of their history together.

Now they'll just be doing badass unironical edits of Soldier Boy instead lmao.
