6 weeks on Cab

I have a 9x8mm prolactinoma, was put on .25mg twice a week. I get nausea on the day I take it, so I take it before bed. Occasional light headless at really random times. Was exhausted all the time before so no noticable change there. Probably the least expected is the sexual changes. It's like being freaking 16 again and I'm 61. I'm not complaining, knew it was a possibility, just surprised. Too bad my marriage is falling apart or this part could actually be fun.

Definitely some impulse control issues. I've always had to control my sarcasm and smart-assed nature as I work in a professional environment, and lately that control is noticeably slipping.

I also noticed I am more emotional, movies or books that normally wouldn't get more than a semi-sarcastic 'aww' now actually get a response. This was probably more surprising than anything else.

My Endo wants to repeat my bloodwork in another 6 weeks. I am hoping for positive movement, but guess we will see.

Follow up to at home euthanasia for dogs

The time we were dreading came sooner than we had hoped. While everyone we called and spoke to was incredibly professional and compassionate, we chose Lap of Love. The DVM who came was very compassionate and professional at the same time and helped us ease into things. Our guy was tired of fighting, and fell asleep fast and easy. His final passing was quick and at least appeared painless. We were given all the time we needed before the paw print and locks of hair were taken, and even that was explained not only to us, but the vet talked to our deceased guy like he was still listening. The vets car was even set up with a little "always in our hearts" and floral arrangements with lavender and other flowers I don't know the name of. Our guy was placed on a gurney with a purple pillow and covered with a purple blanket. We chose an individual cremation and his ashes will be dropped of with our vet.

Nothing makes this easy, but Lap for Love really helped make it a little less hard

Taking my first dose of cabergoline

Mail order finally showed up, about to take .25mg in a few just before bed. Any advice or warnings?

At home euthanasia for pet dog?

After 15 years, we are facing the choice we dreaded. Our old guy is having health issues and while he is still doing mostly OK, things are going to get worse. When the time comes, I don't want him to spend his final moments at the vet's office. So I'm looking for recommendations for at home providers. Thanks in advance.

After 8 months I have some answers (follow up to my original post)

After an 8 month wait saw my Endo. Found out there are only 4 Endos in a town with a population of almost 500,000. Guess that helps explain the wait. Anyways, Endo reviewed the previous blood work and the MRI, he complemented me on being proactive on the MRI as he said that saved us time. He ordered some more blood work just to confirm, but said it looks like a pretty "boring" case of a prolactinoma. I am OK with boring as I don't want excitement or surprises when it comes to my health. I am starting on .25mg of cabergoline 2 times a week. Well, once it shows up. My insurance requires everything to go through a mail order pharmacy if the need isn't urgent/immediate.

2nd round of blood work showed my prolactin levels increased from 85 to 102, testosterone drop 10 points, and they checked my cortisol levels which are low at 5.5 on a 4.5 to 22.7 scale. We are going to schedule follow up blood work every 6 weeks, and a repeat MRI in 8 months if things are going well.

60 year old male. Been exhausted for like 5 years, like struggling to do anything and brain fog so thick I would forget names. Doctors blamed it on my weight, then I got diagnosed with diabetes, so it was because of that. Finally got my GP to test my testosterone, 289 LC/MS, so I got sent to a Urologist. This dude spent half the visit trying to prescribe me little blue pills, but finally scheduled some more blood work. Prolactin levels came back 85. Got referred to an Endocrinologist, but it was 8 months for the first available appointment. During that time I convinced my GP to schedule an MRI. MRI showed a 9mm X 8mm mass against the base of my pituitary gland. My Endo appointment is Tuesday. I am hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully it ain't a train.

Sorry, just feeling a little vulnerable and need to share with internet strangers.
