I have seen conversations on Bulwark Lives and on this channel about why America 250 has been largely a dud. I came across this post and decided to add to it. There was a years-long plan that had federal funding around the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. There were going to be events in all 50 states, educational materials and programs, and much more around the events. Those meetings and plans all came to a crashing halt when the current administration took office. Now, there are some organizations and communities that moved forward with their plans, but the coordinated effort died as soon as this administration found how to capitalize themselves on it. I hope that some investigative journalists look into this and when the 250th of the ratification of the Constitution happens we can celebrate that properly.
Dragging today and I grabbed some coffee to keep me going.
Office coffee and my favorite summertime watch, Bernhardt Starboard.
Trump cancelled the hearing on the nominee for DNI due to Democrats' planned opposition vote to renew FISA. I am glad that Democrats (so far) are holding strong over this issue. On a side note I am finding it interesting how interesting any Congressional opposition is sending Trump over the edge. Makes me wonder if it is age or the G7 is really not going well for him.
This is an interesting development. I am curious to see what comes of it, but I am well aware that this might not go anywhere because it is the Democrats we are talking about.
