Yes, and…mew, er, baby!
The Diamond Dogs-Cat People scene has a wealth of visual and verbal delights, but beyond >!Nate destroying a bookshelf while getting up to his customary perch!<, the one that strikes me most is how it illustrates that >!Alice has completely bought in to the “yes, and…(baby!)” ethos!<.
She’s faced with a group of grown men ludicrously barking before starting a conversation, and when she finds out why, she not only stays to participate (yes), but decides to do it as a cat instead of a dog (and…), and they proceed to discuss >!Roy’s impending parenthood (!<>!baby!!<>!)!<, all while she meows and makes air biscuits!
Bonus points to the writers because she participates as a cat and not a female dog because a) well, that would carry with it an unfortunate name and nuance and b) her character is clearly coded as feline.
