On Psionics and their cultural implications

With magic being highly formalized in the ways of the Shek P’var I wonder if psionics are a bit underused in the world build. I would imagine a group like the PSI corp from Babylon 5 would form to protect Psionic Users and at least nobles would hire people to protect their thoughts against mental intrusions.

Thoughts and opinions please.

Rule wise I find psionics are integrated into the system quite elegantly.

Dead weight Report

So today we gave dead weight a try. The system run smooth as ever. But the pregens that came with the scenario did not feel properly integrated to it. The hidden woman had no opportunity to really play this out. I improvised a few situations were NPC were commenting on her strange voice and contesting roles were called for.

Getting the pc involved included them getting hired as help to unload cargo from the sea hag only to be trapped aboard when they were finished.

Picking up the Morgathians was on route so the pc could see the leper colony in passing as foreshadowing and as a hind.

The pox infection killed one of the PCs. The survivors were awarded with random PSI powers.

The players then started a mutiny on board and knocked out captain Bogen with an axe strike to the elbow.

Then followed a discussion about the ethics of allowing the pox attack and whether Kanday had the moral high ground or Rethem represented true freedom.

The pcs ultimately followed the lure of more gold.

After making landfall and putting the dead head priest in a barrel. Good use of salting skills. The PCs reached the meeting point. Realizing that no more gold was coming the two surviving acolytes were killed and the contaminated corpse was burned.

The adventure required quite a lot of spontaneous improvements and the PCs were not that interesting. We liked a shower of silver lot better.
