Recently bought a second hand Samsung 990 PRO PCle®4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.

Tried accessing it using an enclosure but accessing made the computer slower and prompting that a usb device malfunctioned. My motherboard had 2 slots for m.2 so I figured I’ll try that next, it shows up, almost half full, hard disk sentinel indicates 97% health and 325 power on time.

Tried reformatting it but right clicking the driver and clicking format. After a while, format failed and computer starts to hang / lag. Display goes out and nothing is responsive. Had to restart. After that, boot was taking a long time. Driver is still showing up but with no storage, just the name. Figured I just need to reboot again, this time, it didnt show up and boot time was back to normal. Wasnt showing up in disk management as well but in bios, it shows up as P100A 1TB SSD.

Tried the bios’ NVME sanitation, worked and now can access the driver again but it’s like it forgot that it was a samsung 990 pro. Didn’t get a chance to check it using Samsung magician, and it certainly doesn’t recognize it now. Was this a fake Samsung in the first place? Is it still reversible? Please let me know.

Finishing up my first SFF build. Can you guys help me by letting me know if I’m doing this right? Or what Im doing wrong? I want to be able to use this build for video editing, playing games with multiple tabs open and work that involves opening a ton of pdf/word/excel files.

Max temp: 89c
Max power: 125watts

Furmark2 2560x1440 score: 6446 points (107 fps)
Max temp: 78c
