Anybody run into this? First startup on a new deployment and Apache, Nextcloud, and Imaginary reporting an update available. I've tried stopping and restarting containers, but no update/install/starting take place. I've even tried a full reset and got the same behavior.

Running on a new Debian Trixie install on Proxmox.

Upgrade Turnkey Appliance or migrate to Debian?

Long story short, I've run Nextcloud on Ubuntu Server, but when I switched to Proxmox, I used the Turnkey ISO for Nextcloud. It looks like Turnkey doesn't have a "simple" way to update the Debian base of the appliance, but you have to do a fresh install and migrate.

I'm interested to get input from others about whether I should stick with Turnkey or just switch to Debian with a LAMP stack and Nextcloud installed on it. I liked Turnkey's simplicity for setting up, but now I'm a little annoyed I can't run a dist-upgrade to go from Bookworm to Trixie.

Anyone else develop an annoying "sleep" behavior after upgrade to 43?

So yeah, when I visit my instance for the first time in a while (days, hours maybe) I get greeted with this blank page and no icons in the apps or user menus. After a couple of minutes with a few refreshes, it seems like it wakes up and all the content and icons pop in and work as expected.

I remember seeing someone else report missing icons after initial 43 upgrade, but haven't noticed anything since. Only two errors relating to DbalException exist in my logs and everything is currently up to date.

Performance degradation with update to 34

Is anyone else seeing a horrible performance loss after upgrading to version 34? I regularly see icons not loading, "no files found" errors, and all kinds of behaviors that feel like poor performance for the last week or two.

June 2026 update: black screen at desktop (Plasma)

Just ran the update. Upon reboot I get the Plasma Login Manager, type in my password, see the splash screen, see my desktop wallpaper for a second, then the screens go black with my mouse cursor in the middle.

Dropped down to terminal and rebooted to previous config, everything comes up fine.

Disabled HDR in Display Configuration, reboot to new configuration, everything works fine. Re-enable HDR, good to go. Reboot with HDR enabled, back to black screen with cursor when Plasma panels try to load.

Repeated reboot to config 1, disable HDR, boot into new config and good to go.

Using Plasma on nvidia-open with a 3070ti.

Edit: Also looks like display capture using pipewire in OBS and my Logitech C922 have stopped working as well. I'll try to check other stuff and report back on anything else.

Rich Presence from Cachy Proton?

With the proton bridge flag set, I'm still not seeing activity in the Discord rich presence. I did read at least one place saying the flatpak Discord can't interact with any rich presence information, but since that was a couple of years old I was wondering if anyone else has had luck getting it working on Bazzite/Aurora/etc.

Proton Mail Bridge CLI on Proxmox from Thunderbird?

I've been using the Proton Mail Bridge app on my desktop/laptop to access my Proton mail from Thunderbird and that's been working fine, but I wanted to see if I could offload the bridge to my server. I've gotten the mail bridge CLI installed, logged in, and synced (using the Proxmox helper script), but I can't get Thunderbird to connect. I've opened/forwarded the IMAP and SMTP ports on my router, but it just seems to error out.

Anyone else tried this before and got it working? I'm thinking I may need to as in the Proxmox and selfhosting subs as well, but figured I'd check here first.

Spent an hour or two in Windows 11 and instantly missed KDE.

So yeah, I decided to boot into my Windows partition for the first time in what feels close to a year to install Forza Horizon 6 to see if better performance is worth the Windows frustrations. I wasn't in Windows for 10 minutes before I missed KDE simply because I can't control my screen brightness! In KDE, I've got a custom shortcut to control the brightness on both of my displays, but Windows doesn't even give me a slider to adjust them let alone setting a custom hotkey... Ugh...

Something tells me I'll be okay with the shortcomings of playing the game through Proton instead of dealing with even something as simple as controlling screen brightness.

Thank you, KDE, for being so amazing.
