Considering getting either an XC60 PHEV or mild hybrid.

For the PHEV i will be able to charge overnight and most daily commutes will fit in EV range. I know that once the battery depletes on the PHEV the fuel efficiency is rubbish.

I have read for longer trips you need to manually change the drive mode to hold/maintain or something so the battery does not deplete.

Anywhere I go on a longer trip for a holiday it is unlikely I would be able to charge it on a proper supply/don’t want to be restricted to always having to look for that.

Is the PHEV worth it and do you need to stay on top of the drive mode for longer journeys or can you leave it to sort itself out?
