Louza - where next?

It seems to me he's in an bit of an awkward position. He's not good enough for the PL, but most other teams in the championship (or even other countries' top flights) won't want to spend megabucks on someone his age with zero resale value.

I can see this one being a deadline day Udinese switch.

Meriva B glass roof

I already have a 2012 Meriva B and although it's a bit slow it pretty much covers all of our needs and we've found it very reliable.

We need to get a second family car for similar mileage and requirements etc so thought the simple option would be to get another Meriva (don't laugh), this time the 1.4 turbo. The model I am looking at comes with a panoramic glass roof and a motorised retractable cover. Does anyone have any experience of this, is it reliable or prone to breaking? And does it make the car hotter?

Thanks!

Globe Artichoke

After a couple of years I finally have an artichoke come to fruition! It's absolutely beautiful but I have a few plants in the same (very large, semi shade) container and I can't figure out how to care for them.

They seemed very happy over winter into spring (4 plants over 2ft tall) without my interference but a lot of leaves gradually dried off and died as the temperature increased, despite heavy watering. I have now put a bit of bark mulch down and coupled with the hosepipe ban I haven't been as hot on watering as I was previously, there are some new shoots starting to show. I can't figure out how best to care for it, am I under/over watering it? Or should I have some kind of fertiliser involved?

Unhappy apple tree

One of the first things I did after moving into my house over 10 years ago - with very little gardening knowledge - was plant an apple tree (cobra, if that's what you're into) but it's always looked quite unhappy. There is a big lump at the bottom of the trunk and the branches have always been quite spindly. It's also planted on a slope (my entire garden is, to be fair) with several competing shrubs up to about a foot or two away.

We always get a surprisingly decent crop from it but I'm wondering if I might be best off putting it out of its misery? There isn't really anywhere I can transplant it to.

Thanks! Sorry for poor photos, hard to get a full picture of the tree itself due to other nearby trees.
