Was chatting to someone recently whose old Astra had crossed 320k miles and was somehow still being used daily with barely any warning lights on
I recently bought a Vauxhall insignia (2018) and can’t find the right service history. Recently broke down and diagnostics show transmission failure at just 56k miles!
Are services on gearboxes essential that could have been missed by previous owners? And why would it fail so early? I’ve been using it as a family car, bought it 3 months ago and done roughly 2k miles since owning it
I just can’t seem to find the right service manual for this 2018 car.

can anyone tell me what their mpg is for the 2012 Vauxhall corsa 1.4 petrol, I do alot of city driving and I was just wondering if 23mpg is normal for this kind of car.

Should the top mounts (I think that’s what there called) in the engine bay be free to turn by hand ? Before one of mine I can turn freely by hand the other I can’t turn at all.
The reason I’m even checking is because when I turn my steering wheel back and fourth there’s a kind of springy noise it hard to explain the exact noise. It happens when car is stationary and also when driving
Hi everyone, hoping someone can help because we’re genuinely losing our minds with this.
We have a Vauxhall Corsa Sport and there is a very high-pitched shrill/squealing noise coming from the car (video attached). We’ve already replaced almost everything we thought could be causing it, but the sound is still there.
The noise sounds sharp/shrill, almost like a squeal or whistle. We’re struggling to figure out whether it’s:
brakes/disc shield rubbing
wheel bearing
auxiliary belt/tensioner/pulley
alternator or AC pulley
gearbox/clutch related
air/vacuum leak
We don’t want to keep throwing money at random parts.

My Opel Astra 1.6 CDTI makes a strange metallic noise between 1200 and 2000 RPM. It does not happen only while idling. The car drives well on the highway and power seems normal, but I’m concerned about where the noise is coming from. Video attached with the sound

My old Corsa has done 130,000 miles and everything is ok except the engine is getting a bit tired. Another later Corsa would set me back about five grand for something decent. I’m happy with my Corsa but I would expect it to fatally break down sooner than later. Should I consider a refurbished reconditioned Corsa engine?

Lately, my 2022 Astra PHEV has started to limit the acceleration and power outage on electric mode; running completely normally on hybrid and sport modes. At first I thought it was doing so to preserve battery life as I was low, but it's done it since when plenty of charge is left. Any idea what could be going on? There are no warnings or notices on the dash at all.

Just got my first car recently, it broke down due to head gasket failure, got the car back today after repair but (not sure yall can tell by there camera) the oil looked a little translucent.

Can someone please give me their opinion on this. I just got this car so I can’t tell if this sounds odd or not. I think my timing chain might be rattling on a cold start due to the oil draining out overnight because the tensioner doesn’t have a gasket or… I’m just being paranoid.
