straitstimes.comWe built a virtual arcade with 25+ Singapore-made games, and it's free to play tonight!
Hey everyone! We wanted to show off what Singapore's game developers have been quietly working on.
We're SG Game Dev Guild, a grassroots community of local game developers. Normally we run in-person "Playtest Parties" where devs bring their games and players give feedback, but this time we wanted to try something new: a fully virtual one.
We built a virtual arcade with 45 playable games from 60 developers. Over 25 are from right here in Singapore, plus a few from Malaysia and Brunei, and even a handful from the US, China, Korea and Australia. There's a real mix of genres in there, so come wander around and try whatever catches your eye.
Best part: to enter the arcade, there’s nothing to install, no complicated sign-up. Just show up, play, and chat with the people who made the games. Completely free.
It kicks off tonight, Saturday 15 August 2026, from 8 to 11 PM SGT.
Come hang out with us: https://pictoria.world/s/VirtualPlaytestParty
Looking for gamers to playtest 27+ indie games for free in our virtual arcade on 15 Aug, 8-11 PM SGT!
Hey everyone, Game Dev Guild SG is running Virtual Playtest Party on Saturday, 15 August, from 8 PM to 11 PM SGT in a purpose-built virtual arcade.
The arcade is a hand-crafted, isometric virtual space where you can walk around, chat with other players, and play games (see last slides in attached images).
There will be 27+ playable digital games from local, Malaysian, Bruneian and other indie developers in the arcade, plus 5+ showcase digital games and 5+ showcase tabletop games.
Developers will be in the arcade during the event, so you can play their games and chat with them.
Everything is free.
This is our first virtual event. We're hoping this format will allow us to work around physical space constraints and reach more participants.
