New Cat Bag

Just wrapped up another cat bag, this time the model was a slightly undercooked chicken. He is a really cute undercooked chicken though, and it was very fun to put him in some Egyptian themed jewelry and make him medieval. As soon as Cesario's owner showed me pictures, I knew which mideval cat I wanted to use to base his bag off of.

Help with Merlin costume

Hello! My husband and I are going to our first Ren Faire this November. We are going as King Arthur and Merlin, specifically from the Shrek movie. My husband already has the beard and hat for Merlin and the socks and shoes are easy enough. I'm struggling to find anything that would work for his robe. I've looked it up all kinds of ways and no luck. If anyone knows where I can find something like this please point me in the right direction. I'm open to a little diy as well. I can't sew but I can embellish with markers/dye/etc. Thanks in advance!

Day at the Ren Faire

This was the first faire I’ve attended but it honestly was one of my favourite days of the year.

[28 M/F] Looking to travel for ren faire PART 2

Hey all! Back again. I posted yesterday about how we are trying to travel for our next ren faire but I didn’t give much context on what we are looking for in a ren faire. This resulted in a ton of comments like “vegas is fun” or “kansas city ren faire is cool.” They probably are but it made me curious as to why they are fun and cool.

We are looking for the faire to be as immersive and large scaled if possible. We would love themed weekends that are followed and people are passionate about them. We want an engaged, entertaining crowd as well. From our experience the workers and the shows are always entertaining but what makes the faire to us, are the people that pay to get in. They seem to really set the vibe. The crowd and how immersive the campgrounds are would be #1 on our list on things we are looking for.

I know some shows have late night or overnight parties/shows which sounds like an awesome experience and our state doesn’t really have that but it’s not necessary.

Lastly, we do enjoy all the shopping. I’d much rather buy from a vendor there than amazon or a site I don’t know about.

Let me know if you know of any shows that you love, would fit what we’re looking for, or are so unique in their own way that we should check them out. As stated in the last post, we live in AZ and have heard good things about Minnesota and Texas ren faires. What faire should we look into and why? Please help! 🧚‍♀️🏰🧙‍♂️

Things I can get for my shield for back carrying?

Hello everybody! Last year's renaissance festival was awesome because I mostly completed my costume including this awesome shield! But after the event was over my friends told me I kept accidently bumping into them with it without me being able to tell and it is just overall cumbersome to hold all the time so is their anything I can buy so I can just carry/wear this on my back? There's this weird iron bit sticking out here (zoomed into in the second photo for reference) and I have no idea what that's for and I was thinking I can loop something through that? But I'm unsure if it will break or not. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thr best trinket I've received

I work in microbiology, so when I heard that there was a plague rat at the Black Creek Ren Faire giving out plague pins, I was very, very eager to find them 😅

Perfect addition to my lab coat!

AI used for official merchandise by Medieval Faires Canada

Medieval Faires Canada is running the 2026 Millarville, Vegreville, Strathmore Ren Faires. These would close to the cities of Calgary and Edmonton. It is disappointing to see AI in artisan spaces and it is especially tacky in the way they have marketed it:

🃏⚔️ Official Medieval Faire Collectible Playing Cards ⚔️🃏

Our custom Medieval Faire playing card decks have arrived! Featuring fantasy-inspired artwork created exclusively for our Faire, these decks are designed as both playable cards and collectible keepsakes for adventurers, gamers, and lovers of all things medieval.

The decks will be available online in limited quantities, however shipping costs have become absolutely outrageous, so we strongly encourage guests to pick them up at the Faires whenever possible.

To keep them special, only a limited number will be available at each event: ⚔️ 50 decks at Millarville ⚔️ 50 decks at Vegreville ⚔️ 50 decks at Strathmore

Perfect for: 🃏 Game nights 🍺 Tavern tables 🎁 Fantasy lovers & collectors ⚔️ Unique Faire merchandise

Once they’re gone… they’re gone. 😉

Had a blast at my first trip to the Colorado Renaissance Festival '26!

I took a solo trip today, and I'll be back next week with some friends! I met so many cool people at the faire today and got to see the amazing work by many of the phenomenal craftspeople and vendors that have been working the stalls and sharing their wares. I even bought my first legit, combat-ready sword from Sabersmith! They were amazingly friendly and helpful, and even hooked me up with a rubber cap for the butt of my druid staff (it had started splintering a little bit and I had to stop it from splitting). Now I'm rocking a kickass blue blade as part of my kit! And yeah, you know Waffles was just as excited as I am about the new sword. Best doggy and familiar you could ask for.

10/10 will Huzzah again!

[28 M/F] Looking to travel out of AZ for a ren faire!

Hey all! My girlfriend and I are looking to travel for our next ren faire. Distance is not necessarily an issue if the faire is worth it. Do y’all have any recommendations? We have Minnesota in September and Texas in November on our list. How are those two? Open to any and all feedback! Would be open to traveling for multiple as well😊

Knight and the Girlgoyle

Just finished making this custom medieval cat kidney bag of the kitties Vinz and Zuul, and I think it turned out super great. I'm really pleased with the leather lacing on the flaps of the bag especially, and I think the cats turned out super cute, so I wanted to share. :)

Paid a Visit to Kentucky This Weekend

We came back up to the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival this weekend. We first visited this fair n 2007 I think when it was only a couple years old. We went back two years ago and found a lovely couple that sold wooden mugs that he makes. I bought one then and my wife has spent two years wishing she had gotten her one. This is the only faire he goes to, so today we got her one. Picked up one of his pens for me as well! I mean, I gotta stay on top right?! 😆

Been doing some DIY costume stuff for a while now and decided to share some of it. Hope you guys think its cool.

Started doing leather work about a month ago. Made that little shield today with some stuff I bought over at a thrift store. I do not sell any of the stuff I make, and this is not an ad of any kind. Just wanted to share the things I am making for me and my LARP group. The belt pouches have been awesome at the Ren Fair this year.

Some of My Favorite Fits I’ve Ever Made for OR Renn Faire!

Costumes made by me minus corsets from CorsetStory and staves from a wonderful vendor at the Canterbury Faire. Wisteria fit worn by me, celestial fit worn by my lovely friend.

Anyone know where I could find some boots to go with this kit? I have thick calves and usually need wide feet shoes, so my brief searching has been unsuccessful so far.
