My fit for the final day of the NY Ren Faire

What D&D class do you think I'd be?

Added a gambeson which kept me warm, and made the armor straps wayyyyy more comfortable. Also added some poleyns which I used patellar knee braces to hold in place 😅

How to secure knee armor/poleyns?

Pretty much the title. I recently bought some knee armor from Amazon for an upcoming ren faire. Unfortunately, I didn't really think through how to secure them to my knees before purchasing (I thought the strap would be enough to hold it in place, but probably to no one else's surprise, it is not).

My initial plan was to wear them over generic "medieval pants" or "ren faire pants" (googling either of those would show you what I mean).

That being said, does anyone know of any relatively simple ways to keep these secured? Any specific gear I'd need, or any tricks I could try?

I'm not operating on any real time line or budget (maybe not a million dollars, of course), so I'd love to hear about any experience or suggestions that people may have with these. Thanks in advance!

Base Layer Color Suggestions?

I'm happy with the armor and leather pieces I've got. I generally do like the dark green tunic underneath as well, but I'm wondering if any other tunic colors would work well with what I've got going on? Or any other base layer pieces to add? I'm wondering if changing up the base layers a little bit might make the fit as a whole slightly less dark? With the black armor it's definitely going to be quite dark regardless, but I wouldn't mind maybe a slight increase in the color brightness overall. Thanks in advance!

Beginner Fitness Smartwatch Recommendations?

Pretty much the title. My birthday is coming up and I was thinking about buying myself a smartwatch for tracking some fitness metrics. Some specifics I'm looking for:

- step counter

- heart rate monitor

- stopwatch/timer function (if this is a thing)

- ideally under $400 (though I'm flexible, since I'm splurging a little for my birthday)

I'd also appreciate any additional features and functions as well, but those listed are the ones I'm mainly looking for. As someone who hasn't owned a smartwatch before, are there any general recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Finally Beat Honor Mode!

I have posted here in the past about Honor Mode questions and struggles (including a frustrating loss to Lathander traps) so I just wanted to share that I finally beat it and got the achievement!

Granted I skipped most of act 3 outside of the absolute required quests and had Gale go boom, but I'm still counting it as a win in my book.

Shout out to everyone who encouraged me and gave me advice on the run - thanks!

Haircut suggestions?

I've (M28) had long hair like you see above since 2021, grew it out during the pandemic. I've recently had an urge to cut it short and donate my hair.

From a style perspective, would I possibly look better with shorter hair? I don't have any super recent photos of me with short hair since I haven't had short hair in years, but based in my face and head shape would short hair suit me better?

And if short hair is the move, any suggestions for length, style, etc.? I'm open to all suggestions for hair or anything else you see for that matter. Thanks in advance!

I was wrapping up act 1 in my honor Mode run, playing as a wood elf college of lore bard, running with Karlach, Lae'zel, and Shadowheart. We are in the creche, in the hallway about to get the blood of lathander. There are these traps which push you back if you approach (see picture). Normally, the game goes into turn based mode when you approach, but my game didn't. Sure enough, it blew my entire party back into the chasm in that area, thus ending my run. I was level 7, had done pretty much everything else in act 1, including taking out the githyanki inquisitor. I can't believe I lost the run in such a stupid way. 32 hours wasted. And it wasn't even a challenging combat encounter or anything!

I'm feeling terrible about this and have a feeling this is going to be the start of a terrible week (it's Sunday right now). I'd love to hear about some silly Honor Mode ends you guys have dealt with.
