I've been working on some new foam armor for my ren fair garb and have been working on this project for little over a month now! I decided to also film my texturing and painting process along the way to post eventually!

I sewed nothing but did make the helmet and Gorget from Eva foam and distressed and weathered all the garments with abrasive materials and acrylics!

Finished my knight costume for Ren faires

No 3D printing was used for this build. For anyone curious about the crafting process, I used a template which I then transferred and traced onto Eva foam. After carefully cutting out all pieces I glued them together, created metal texture, sealed with plastidip, then painted.

I used 6mm and 2mm HD foam from SKS props, and contact cement for adhesive

For the metal textures, I played around texture sponges awith ceramic stucco, stone spray paint, flex seal, 3m adhesive spray, and then sanded down before adding plastidip

For paints I airbrushed Alclad Chrome 2, buffed graphite powder, Army Painters Rust tone shade, and black acrylic paints
