What "benefit of hindsight" would you share?

For me, I had a full working game before I thought of adding a tutorial. I decided a playable tutorial was the answer, but integrating that with the existing game was a chore; I had to re-funnel all the interactions through a central controller which was aware so that I could control exactly how the user played whilst they were working through the tutorial.

Tbh, it ended up being one of the most satisfying aspects of the build, but it would have been a lot easier if I'd considered the need up front and designed it properly from the outset.

Do you have any hindsight to offer new game devs?

FishTrader Alpha Testers Needed

Hey All,

I'm looking for some Alpha testers for my fish themed puzzle/economy game.

The concept is fairly simple: buy fish, grow fish, sell fish for profits. Add a little mutation and breeding, and there are a number of routes to profit. Getting top spot on the leaderboard may not be quite so straightforward, but there are in-game prizes on offer if you make it!

It is a Web game (progressive Web app) that uses network for leaderboards, but otherwise plays offline - so good for those long tube journeys or remote locations. Hopefully it should work on any modern browser and can be "added to home page" on mobiles for a more immersive experience.

If you fancy a try, head over to my discord channel and I'll point you in the direction of the game.

Thanks in advance, and hope to catch you soon.
