I recently learned about a political concept, and it perfectly explains why SCJ is so obsessed with HWPL and "Global Peace"
I recently came across a fascinating politica concept that discussed how authoritarian regimes handle their international image. The concept is called "External propaganda for internal consumption." Basically, it means that when a dictatorship spends millions of dollars funding fringe foreign politicians, setting up state-run media overseas, or hosting grand international forums, they know the regular international public doesn't really care or buy into it. So why do they do it? They do it entirely to "export and re-import." They get a clip of a foreign face praising their government, slap subtitles on it, and blast it on their domestic state TV. To the citizens back home who are cut off from the real world, it creates an amazing illusion: "Look how much the world respects our Great Leader! We must be on the right side of history." The whole grand show is designed purely to keep their own people compliant and proud.
The moment I understood this concept, a lightbulb went off in my head. This is EXACTLY what Lee Man-hee (LMH) and SCJ have been doing for decades with HWPL, IWPG, and IPYG. Once you view SCJ through this lens, the whole puzzle clicks together:
- The WARP Summit: Buying Fringe Dignitaries for the Korean Homeland
Think about those giant, shiny WARP Summit photo books and videos they forced us to look at in Center. HWPL loves flying in retired politicians from developing nations, former presidents of small countries, or marginal religious leaders who have absolutely no idea what SCJ really is. They give them free 5-star hotel stays, all-expenses-paid trips, get them to sign vague "peace treaties," and take pictures with LMH.
• The External Facade: They pretend to be a legitimate, world-changing peace NGO.
• The Internal Reality: These summits change absolutely nothing in real-world geopolitics. But the footage is quickly edited with epic, emotional music and blasted to Korean branches and local Centers. LMH uses these clueless foreign politicians to brag to the flock: "Look! Even world presidents and the Kings of the Earth are bowing to the Promised Pastor. The Bible is fulfilling right now! Keep working hard!" It’s all just bait to make internal members feel like they are on the winning team.
- The Bait-and-Switch: "Peace" vs. Totalitarianism
• The Shiny Facade: When HWPL talks to the public, they use beautiful words like human rights, harmony, youth empowerment, and world peace. They hide the Bible, they hide the name Shincheonji, and they hide LMH.
• The Ugly Reality: Once you are trapped deep in the Center, the "peace" talk vanishes. Suddenly, you are told that LMH is the only immortal savior, every other church is controlled by demons, and lying to your parents and friends (using "wisdom") is totally okay. The pretty "world peace" talk is just the cheese in the mousetrap.
- Flipping bad news into "Proof of Prophecy"
Whenever investigative journalists expose SCJ's lies, or when families protest outside their buildings:
On the outside: They cry "persecution" and blast out self-made articles and paid press releases online to try and clean up their image.
• On the inside: They celebrate! The leaders look at the scared members and say: "See? Matthew 5:11 says the world will hate us! This media backlash just proves we are the true kingdom and Satan is terrified of us!" They effortlessly turn their own scandals into "proof" that the Bible is coming true, forcing members to cut off the outside world even more.
The Big Picture
LMH isn't a pastor; he’s just operating like a textbook dictator using a very specific blueprint.
