My first impression of Meirro Pro Display 6K monitor

My first impression of Meirro Pro Display 6K monitor

Actually just got my Meirro Pro Display, figured I would share my first impression. Will continue to experiment with it and do some color calibration when I have time.

  • packaging came in looking rough, I thought it would be a DOA, I'm glad that the monitor actually survived, although somehow a bit dusty inside
  • Monitor looks really good, very similar to a few usual suspects. I personally prefer the clean aesthetic comparing to the G32P that I bought half a year ago. pictures of both attached for you to compare.
  • There is literally no button on this, I find that somehow interesting. My G32P has a power button, Meirro has nothing (Pete's review mentioned this too)
  • Monitor lights up with my MacBook M5 Max automatically, but there is a noticeable delay. Not as fast as an Apple display for sure.
  • I love how Apple features all work out of box: I was able to turn on HDR automatically; all resolutions/rates are available; brightness directly controllable; night shift works;
  • I have a minor issue with remote control, the back button seems to not respond sometimes, or at least I need to press harder, already reached out to customer service.

I need to head out for July 4th long weekend, once I'm back, I will add my color calibration results. I'm still debating if I should get an Apple Studio Display at this point to be honest, but no HDR for the base model seems truly unacceptable to me.
