I’ve actually been thinking about doing a rematch for a few months now. I’m currently in the Netherlands and at first I felt fine, but lately I’ve been really exhausted. I’m not here for the money — honestly the pay sh**t , and all the aupairs know that haha and the Netherlands is very expensive. I just wanted the experience and a good time, but right now I haven’t really had time for myself.

The program is sold as if you become part of the family or like an older sibling, but it doesn’t really feel like that. It often feels more like cheap childcare. What bothers me the most is that I don’t have a fixed schedule, so I can’t really organize my week or plan activities regularly. I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I should be more flexible. Are you like that?

I want to have my own life here too. I’ve talked to the parents, but it’s really difficult because they are doctors and sometimes they are on call and sometimes not.

Do you think it’s time to look for another family? I’ve been with them for 4 months.

I also want to add that the child has ADHD, and sometimes I feel like they really need someone with more experience for him. He is very emotionally unstable and most of the time not very well-behaved.
