How do you play against cherry pickers?

Bottom of the barrel beginner D-Leaguer here. Whenever my team somewhat establishes themselves in the offensive zone, you can bet your ass that there's a player from the opposing team that is legit camping out in the neutral zone just waiting for a breakaway.

I honestly don't think I'm skilled enough or my entire team is to basically have a free power play, but I'm curious if you have suggestions on how we evolve our gameplay to compensate for this?

I hate playing defense hanging back and never being in the offensive zone just because random fucks want to cherry pick and have a 1 on 0.

Honestly who are stick and puck sessions at 11:30am for?

D tier beer leaguer here. I honestly hate open/public skate for working on anything (unsupervised kids, teens and adults just skating like jackasses) I'm just constantly on edge the entire time and can't even find a small chunk of ice to practice basic skills.

So I figured I'd try my hand at some stick and puck sessions at my local rinks. Its weird to me that these sessions are only from 11am-Noon Monday-Friday.

Who actually attends these? I guess if I was still on shiftwork, I could make it work. Kids are in school, most people are working. They might have a lunch break, but that's not enough time to get to the rink, change, practice, change again, and be back in time for the rest of your shift.

Synthetic ice tiles. Is there a big difference between the major brands?

I'm trying to put synthetic ice tiles in my basement or garage. I see the major players (hockeyshot, potent hockey, sniper's edge, can ice, etc).

I know there's premium brands like Glice or more professional options, but based on these highly available brands, is there a brand that sticks out as the best for one reason or another? I have about a 15' x 20' space I'm trying to make into a training area.

I've done a little research as far as cleaning, more frequent sharpening, etc. is there anything else to consider when purchasing a specific brand?

I'm planning on helping out my beer league by being a scoreboard operator for games and with that, I get DJ powers over the sound system.

I'm wondering if anyone has a playlist for common songs in between puck drops maybe in 30 second chunks that can be played between whistles and intermissions.

Hey guys. You may have seen my previous posts, but I picked up hockey November of 2025 and am loving it.

You all gave me great feedback on my first post. It's a lot of information to take in, but I was trying to focus on a couple things like engaging the flex of my stick and working on the lever action of the top hand. Here's a small video of my session shooting around 150 pucks.

I definitely fumbled some shots here so don't hold back on criticism. You won't hurt my feelings I just want to get better. Shifting my weight off of skates is rough for me to be honest.
