I wanted to do a plexi like pedal, and looked for the wampler plexidrive but the j201 seemed pretty expensive actually, so then i seen the box of rock which is like the same but with mosfets, but i don't know what is different with the 2n7000
I was doing this mxr dist+ typa thing and realized it sounds like a bit more compressed (i'm using singles) than it sounds on demos, even without diodes, and thought if it was possible to solve it through mods, or should i just move to another circuit
Ive noticed that the ne555 is way cheaper than the max, but i don't know if there's a disadvantage or someting
What should i play with it?
I was making this shitty dod250/dist+ typa thing and i thought id like more gain, but i don't know ANYTHING about how to insert gain stages or adding gain and thought on just making the same drive again and stack em, but i don't know how it works irl, so i ask yall if attaching circuits in series is a solution
Ive Made this pedal work, but it has very little low gain with the drive at max (which i changed with a A500K provisionally and works), i already checked the resistors value, dialing the drive knob, got another lm741 and is the sounds the same.
I only changed the 10k and 20k for 12k and 22k, the 10uf for 22uf and the 25pf for 22pf. The chip is grounded and conected to 9v, the 4.7 nf cap used to be replaced for a 3.3nf (and sounded the exact same) and i removed and solder again the diodes (having really low overdrive), i even disconected all the pins of the OP AMP and conected them again and keep sounding the same.

Germanium pedals seem so cool but the only NOS germanium transistors in My country (chile) are "MP39b" and "2n404", are these a good option for like fuzz faces, treeeble boosters and other pedals?
