Earning Strategy for Asia Honeymoon next year (is 250k AP enough for two business class redemptions, even if just 1 way?)

TL;DR: I have 170k Aeroplan points and I want business-class flights for two to Japan in Sept–Oct 2027 from YVR/YYZ. I'm considering building to 250k–300k points but I worry that 250k+ per person makes the strategy pointless. I'm also considering Taiwan or other parts of Asia and Seats.aero for better availability.

Hi all, I'm currently sitting on around 170k AP. We're know we need to plan far out to try and get business class redemptions. Based on what I see on this page and other research, I'm trying to look into Sept 2027-Oct 2027. We'd be flying out of either YVR or YYZ.

I just got rid of the Amex Aeroplan reserve card but plan to buffer up with the CIBC card and potentially the amex plat next year when I have more purchases lined up. But even if I get to 250k-300k, if all the business class redemptions are 250k per person, is there even a point?

Before I try to execute on my card strategy I just don't want to jump through all these hoops if it won't get me to my goal of business class redemptions so that my wife and I can experience it together for the first time.

Unfortunately we want to go to Japan for our honeymoon, one of the most popular routes, though we could possibly fly elsewhere in Asia like Taiwan and just fly from there to Japan if that can open up more availability.

I've done some searching in Aeroplan and there is nothing available at all in Sept 2027(even one way) from or to Japan where it isn't like 250k+ AP per person and/or bad mixed cabin/crazy routing.

I'm debating signing up for seats.aero, but I don't feel there's a point if 170k-300k isn't going to be enough.
