Posted a guide on the difference between echolalia and scripting in autistic kids, figured this community might find it useful
Focused on the practical side, what they actually look like in the classroom, why it matters, and how to respond to each one. Written for paras mostly, but teachers and parents have said it helps them understand their kids better too.
Would love feedback if I'm missing anything or if there's a nuance I glossed over.

blog I made "love letter to paras for all you all do!
"You are often the most consistent adult in a child's day."
I wrote a love letter to paras at the end of the year, and I meant every word.
If you're a para, this is for you. If you know one, send it to them. They won't ask for it, but they need it.

Learning the different types of stimming honestly changed how I see a lot of my students.

It’s not just random—it usually points to something.
Makes supporting them way easier.

Looking for classroom ideas for my site I work on in my free time to help teachers and paras
Hey everyone 👋
I’ve been working on my website ParaNow.xyz in my free time, trying to build tools that help in the classrooms.
for example some things I already have:
🧩 Visual schedules
⭐ Data Trackers
💬 Simple AAC buttons
⏱️ ParaPro and RBT study guides
- and tons more
But I know every classroom is different…
👉 What would YOU want on something like this?
👉 What would actually make your day easier?
Even if it’s something small or super specific, I’d love to hear it. I’m building this for you guys, so your ideas really matter.
Appreciate any feedback 🙏
Made a Para End-of-Year Survival Bingo card, how many can you check off?
Made a Para End-of-Year Survival Bingo card, how many can you check off?
It's that time of year. The kids are feral, the schedule changes daily, and someone definitely cried at recess for no reason.
So we made a bingo card. Squares include things like "student asked if today is the last day for the 47th time," "BCBA popped in unannounced," and "got a handmade card that emotionally wrecked you." 😭

"They're not ready." "It'll stop them from talking." "That's the SLP's job, not mine."
These come up constantly, and they're backed by zero evidence. We wrote a deep-dive breaking down 7 of the most common AAC myths paras still believe, with real classroom examples and what the research actually says.

Curious, which of these have you run into? And have you ever successfully pushed back on one at a team meeting? 👇
Hey everyone, I put together a full breakdown of the RBT certification process over on the ParaNow blog. Covers eligibility, the 40-hour training requirement, what's actually on the exam (broken down by task list area), and real study tips that aren't just "read the handbook."
We also just launched a free RBT Study Guide & Mock Test with 200+ practice questions if anyone wants to start practicing:

Anyone here already RBT certified? What helped you most when studying? Would love to hear from people who've been through it.
