Came across a great pair of forest green relaxed cut paul smith trousers today which were unfortunately dry clean only.

I have been avoiding clean only as with three kids it simply means I do not wear it.

Talking to colleagues though some are ignoring this and putting dry clean only items in their washing machine with gentle cycles, low heats and lingerie bags.

Anyone had experience of doing this? Is this madness?

Bought a proper pair (herring) of suede boots. Any tips for suede protectors or general care to keep them looking this sweet.

Any particular products or rules people swear by?

Historically I’ve gone with Samuel Windsor or other relatively more affordable suede footwear as I’ve never really been able to meaningfully maintain them. Leather I’ve been happy to spend big bucks and I’ve got their care down to tee. Got better with suede over the years so thought it was time to try.
