Will these two ever become a couple?

I just finished the manga and decided to rewatch the Anime again and I just realised that if Griffith didn't interfere with the monster and Casca, She would have been killed by it infront of Guts as sick as it is could it be said that Griffith prolonged their deaths long enough for the Skull Knight to arrive and save them both or was it also Casca's fate to survive The Eclipse.

Why does Puck look more serious and always observing Guts/getting closer to him ever since Griffith took Casca? and in the recent chapters could he be sensing that something big is going to happen soon or Is he Just trying to comfort Guts by staying closer too him as his best friend.

Could the reason for Casca freaking out when seeing Guts after regaining her memories be that she also blames him or knows subconsciously that he was the cause of the eclipse (even though he didn't know the consequences or didn't intend too) because he left even though things where becoming good for the Hawks
