I'm annoyed because I'm going to miss the Bathurst 1000 for 1st times since 1972

Every year regardless of what I'm doing I make certain I can watch the race, from start to finish, on TV.

This year I will be in ICU or a Cardiac Unit while the race is on and I'm pissed off about it.

Best of luck to all the drivers on the day. I wish I was drinking beer and screaming with excitement at the TV.

WTF is wrong with this egg - it's wonky

I haven't seen and egg like this before. From memory it was in a Good Farmers brand pack of eggs. All other eggs were fine, just this one was wonky.

Edit: This egg came in a box from Coles in Mandurah, WA.

How many hours sleep do you get, and how many do you need?

I'm 63 years old and find myself going to bed at 8 PM and not waking up until 7 to 7:30 AM. I tend to get 11 to 12 hours sleep each night.

I recognise my sleep patterns are unusual and most folks get less sleep. I have a cancer which creates fatigue as well as a nephropathy which creates additional fatigue.

How much sleep do you get vs. how much you feel you need?

Affect of Warfarin on Platelets (Mantle Cell Lymphoma) and Aortic Valve Replacement

I'm having Open Heart Surgery soon (exact date unknown as yet) for Hem-Arch and Aortic Valve replacement. I need to choose a Mechanical Valve or Tissue Valve. Tissue Valves can wear out whereas Mechanical don't. Problem with Mechanical is they require lifelong use of Warfarin.

I also have Mantle Cell Lymphoma which is currently in remission. One of the markers I look for during treatment was Platelet count.

My concern is that choosing a Mechanical Valve means taking blood thinners, on top of my current Clopidogrel (which I've taken for 15 years after an Aortic Dissection). How will Warfarin affect Platelets and other blood readings when the Mantle Cell returns.

I have an appointment in two months with my Hematologist but my Heart Surgery may come up before then.

Btw, I'm 63 years old.

Eggs - Refrigerate or not?

ChatGPT says we should refrigerate eggs whereas Claude says we don't need to.

Our local Coles have eggs refrigerated, but local Fruit & Veg shops, like Spud Shed or Gilbert's don't.

A dozen eggs lasts us three or four days but they are up to four weeks old when purchased at Coles or Woolies.

Personally, I'd leave them in the cupboard but my wife wants them in the fridge.

Your thoughts?
