Can I work in Antarctica with narcolepsy?

It's always been a bit of a dream of mine to work in Antarctica, but I developed narcolepsy when I was about 15. Based on what I've heard, I'm not particularly hopeful. Realistically, is there ANY chance at all? I would so love to go, but I realise I might have to say goodbye to that vision.

Otherwise, I have no medcial issues.

What kind of wood is this lemon-coloured thing?

I found it in a pile of grass clippings and when I scrape off the bark it reveals a lemon yellow colour

Silver linings of narcolepsy

A silver lining of having narcolepsy: girls in my class seem to find it cute when I fall asleep. I won’t complain about that 😼

Any other suggestions?

I just wrote down my average day for the first time and it makes me realise how much time I spend asleep. Tallying up the hours, I probably spend about 15 hours per day in total just sleeping. The other 9 hours I spend in school and eating, plus errands such as homework and revision.

All I can say is... wow. Is this my entire life now? I never realised how fucked up it's become. It feels pretty bad. I get prescribed methylphenidate (Ritalin) but that gives me nasty side effects so I avoid taking it when I don't need to. They didn't prescribe me any night drugs cause I had central sleep aponea and those would affect my breathing even more.

Has anyone else been in a similar spot? I feel pretty dejected. I feel like the rest of my life will be like this forever... mostly sleeping, merely surviving.

One of my friends lost several teeth to gum disease when he was about 12, after his adult teeth had already come in. Somehow, they grew back? He swears up and down that they were his adult teeth and not milk teeth. Is this even possible? The only difference now is that they’re incredibly spiky, but they’re teeth nonetheless.
