DNA Test is back

We picked out our boy based on his personality at a local shelter's Love Island themed dog speed dating event. He was picked up abandoned and heartworm positive in a local strip club parking lot. I knew within 60sec of meeting him, he was who we were searching for.

We researched his listed breed before taking him home but figured he was a mix like most rescues... NOPE.

100% Dogo Argentino going back at least 3 generations.

He's been the perfect addition - so fun learning about our special guy.

Neuter Week is the WORST

Having to keep him inactive and heavily sedated clearly goes against his nature and I hate it. ( He had a small hematoma during post-op recovery, so we've had to be especially careful. )

We are on day 5 of recovery and healing is going well but it's miserable on him. He's regressed around mouthing, doped out of his mind.

I've always been so pro neuter and spay but I forgot how hard the recovery process can actually be.

New Addition- First Dogo

We're getting his DNA run but it will take a couple weeks.

He's dropped into our house easier than any pet we've ever had! He's such a big sweet baby. Tips to help him thrive are welcome!
