Need help

So I ended up with a 4 months old dogo argentino because of a relative's passing and I don't know what to do. I've never had any dog before, which makes it all much more complicated, especially because this is a dangerous breed. I don't think it's been trained or something, but I am no specialist, I genuinely don't know anything about dogs. I tried to go on a walk with the dog but when we left the house, it just sat in place and would not move. I know he probably has to get used to me, but he has to go outside, obviously. He keeps on chewing shoes and bringing them to the place where he sleeps (i don't know how it's called in english, sorry) even despite the fact he has a chewing toy, and even when I call him by his name and tell to leave it, he doesn't listen. He roamed around the house like twice, but that's the most he did. He mostly just lays down and sleeps. I tried to search for some type of basic training, but all I could find was dog training for hunting. I'm sorry if this isn't the appropiate sub to ask this, but I would really appreciate some overall tips and facts about this breed.

Today’s adventures: Cocha’s “Pawnly Fans” photo and India’s feast with… a toad

Interesting day today, to say the least. Cocha has decided to help with the mortgage, and he opened his Pawnly Fans page, where he will feature himself with his (not so little) Christmas trees decorations.
India decided to make the morning interesting. Little troublemaker! She got into a toad. Started foaming in the mouth… Right before I left for work. Great timing, you little rascal! She made me freak out because it was quite a bit of foam. She was so wiggly that hosing her mouth was nearly impossible. Sigh, breathe in and out I told myself. I grabbed the toad, apologized, and then threw it out the fence.
India cleaned her mouth, but you could tell she was probably disgusted. She drank lots of water and ate her breakfast… she’s fine. It’s an American toad. They’re not poisonous. Now, you’d ask me “why didn’t you call her when she was getting to the frog?” The prey drive that these two have is off the roof. Tunnel vision when they’re hunting.

India gave me her yoga class today. She brought a new ashana. Says you all should sign up to yoga classes with her.

Is neutering a senior dog worth it?

Hugo(almost 7 years) is healthy and still active. Bloodwork, urine, fecal test shows everything is good inside out. I’m considering on neutering him however, there are so many mixed reviews.

Anyone neutered their senior dog? Did it change his behavior for better? Worse? I heard it makes fear/anxiety worse in dogs??

Please advise. His surgery is scheduled for may 22nd.

I have just random questions about this breed. Any help or advice is welcome.

I've had my dogo Argentino for nearly 2 years now. She is so beautiful and powerful looking. I have even posted her pictures on this sub reddit. Her name is Lilith. I have always wanted a dogo Argentino for over 20 years. In that time I did my research on the breed. By the time I was stable enough to own a breed of that kind, the prices for a full blooded with papers puppy cost between 3000 to 4000. Lucky last year, local breeder had an accidental liter and I got her for 400 with papers. Kinda of now or never type thing. I also can't really afford to go to the vet unless it's just a life or death emergency. So, my questions are as follow:

  1. Her coat sometimes thins out and it doesn't look natural. Anything I can do to help her coat stay thick and shiney??

  2. Her ears appear to constantly itch. There is some brown build up that I clean up to best of my ability. Anything to help with this issue that is over the counter??

  3. She sniffs literally everything. I have never seen a dog sniff so much before. Is this normal??

  4. She is a female. Her nipples are just huge like she has puppies to feed but she has never had a liter of puppies before. Is that normal too??

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this, your answers, and advice.
