Wig Hall
My daughter's room in Wig Hall was assigned as a double but converted to a triple this year: 3 sets of beds, desks, dressers and 2 bookcases in 222 sq ft. We've called Housing and gotten vague answers, and the room review site only lists it as "a large double with a small wall divider on one side," which doesn't reflect what's actually being assigned now or in the room map layout of the floor.
A few things I'm trying to figure out before move-in:
Anyone actually lived in a first-floor Wig triple? How tight does it feel day to day?
Closet space: the built-in units look shallow from photos. Enough for three people's clothes, or is everyone bringing extra storage?
Bathroom situation, how many shower stalls and sinks?
How hot do these rooms get without AC? Wig doesn't have it, and I've seen mixed opinions on whether evaporative coolers actually do anything here versus just moving warm air around.
Mainly wondering why Pomona doesn't catalog room layouts and furniture; somewhere students can check before move-in. There's no way to plan properly for storage around a room you don't know is until you show up. Hate running around last minute for items.
Also, with a giant endowment like Pomona’s, why aren’t all the dorms equipped with a/c?! I know these are old buildings, but they should be able to figure it out.
