Did Jade actually “replace” Jim in the story?

Did Jade actually “replace” Jim in the story?
I’ve seen people say that after Jim dies, Jade essentially fills the narrative space Jim occupied because he becomes much more involved with Tabitha, they investigate the mystery together, and the past-life reveal makes Jade’s connection to Tabitha much deeper than we originally knew.

I don’t really see it that way.

To me, Jade didn’t replace Jim or fill Jim’s role. Jade has been one of the show’s central mythology characters since Season 1. His story involving the symbols, Christopher, the visions, and the reincarnation reveal was already his own independent arc long before Jim died.

Jim’s death didn’t suddenly create Jade’s importance—it just removed one major character while another major character’s storyline naturally continued. Jade becoming more prominent after Jim’s death doesn’t necessarily mean he inherited Jim’s narrative function. It just means his own arc reached a point where it became more central.

I also couldn’t find any interviews or comments from the writers or cast saying Jade was intended to take over Jim’s narrative role. The interviews I’ve seen focus on Jim’s death affecting Tabitha emotionally and on Jade’s mythology becoming more important because of the reincarnation reveal, which seems like a different point.

Am I missing something? Are there any scenes or interviews that actually suggest Jade was meant to fill Jim’s narrative role, or is this just a fan interpretation? Curious to hear what everyone thinks.

How do I get to 585 from 515? Any tips or advice would be great.

I’m 31 years old, a legit 5’11, and 205 lbs with a soccer background. Played NCAA college soccer one season and realized I’m
not good enough to go pro so just said fuck it let me get really big and strong.

I’ve been stuck at 500 for a couple of years now. Now, I haven’t been trying to get up to 585 because I was getting a lot of back problems just hitting my max but after switching to a better physical therapist and fixing a few things in my form I can go for longer.

My goal in 6 months is to deadlift 585 and to power clean 300. Max power clean is 270 and max deadlift is 515. Here is a video of me doing some deadlifts.

How common is a 500+ deadlift at your gym actually?

Just want honest input from people on how common it is that they see someone pull 500+ at their gym.

I will say at the Lifetime I go to, it’s rare but not super rare. Like I’ll see it done usually at least once a month. I would say it’s better than most guys at my gym because there are a lot of high schools and college freshman who mostly do 200-365 lbs. The slightly older gym bros that I see go more often are usually in the low to mid 400’s.
