I apologize if I'm mistaken, but am I the only one unable to connect to multiplayer in the PS version of Tropico 5?
Other online games are working fine, but Tropico 5 has been like this for about five days.
Normally, even if you leave a forest open for logging camps within or near the city, shacks will be built there as the population grows, destroying the trees.
However, by arranging parks diagonally, you can eliminate most open space where shacks could appear, while still leaving gaps for trees to grow. This allows seedlings to regenerate safely without being damaged. Once set up, logging becomes largely sustainable (though you may need to plant if the starting tree count is low).
As a bonus, this compact arrangement shortens the distance workers have to travel from the camp to the trees, improving productivity.
