I love when a character has a mobility aid/visible disability of some kind and we never get an explanation of the origin story. They don’t have some tragic backstory they whip out at some point just to make them sympathetic and short-cut actually character development.

I love when characters can just be disabled and we don’t have to have an origin to their disability that ties into the present plot or focus on “how” it happened (and have them be bitter about how it happened). Its just an engrained part of their character the way anything else is.

Shazam— Freddy Freeman

Newsies— Crutchy (not the best disability rep ever but I have a soft spot for him)

Arcane— Viktor (his chronic illness/ fantasy tuberculosis has an origin story, but we never find out why his leg/skeleton is the way it is)
