I hate to ask, but would anybody STRONGLY NOT recommend flying with Etihad for this trip? Etihad business class has a much better price, gets me there within +1 days (vs. Emirates with +2), though the layover in Abu Dhabi is only an hour and 15 minutes. Is this doable, or should I spend an extra $1500-$2000 to fly Emirates because of better reputation? Can anybody saw anything positive about Etihad?
Hey everyone… I will be flying through Doha on my way to Sri Lanka in a couple days on Qatar airlines. Given Bahrain is next to Qatar, how safe (or not) is it to fly through Doha later this week? I understand that Iran was targeting a US military base, but still…too close for comfort?
I am looking to spend a couple of days on beaches on the East Coast. Pasikuda looks gorgeous as does Trincomalee (as does Arugum Bay). Can somebody give me recommendations as to which of these places is better to stay over a 3 to 4 day period? I plan on going to at least two of these places so what are your top two recommendations?
My flight lands at 3:30 am so will need to crash in either Colombo or Negombo before I begin. Which city is better to walk around a bit before departing to Sigirya? Any recommendations of things to see in Colombo?
