Hi, I applied yesterday for my wife’s 48 hr transit visa. She has Pakistani passport and green card. Usually how long does the processing take ?

Do NOT fly with Etihad. You will regret it. They are not willing to make any accommodation due to the conflict in the Middle East.
On top of that, which airline only allow 7 kg of carry-on? This is just ridiculous.
You have lost at least 3 customers forever. Maybe more.
I hope you will be the next Spirit.
Stay away fro Ethiad! They are a bit cheaper than other airlines, but if you want to rebook or cancel the flight, you almost get nothing back from them. Moreover, it takes hours to chat with them because they disabled the "manage you flight" online option. Terrible, never again
Is the US CBP pre-clearance operating? If not any idea when they will reopen?
For those waiting for refund for your cancelled ticket, i got my ticket refunded on the 45th working day after cancellation.
Looks like they are keeping a timer and issuing refund the moment clock ticks 45th working day.
Hi next week i have a flight from Bahrain to jakarta.
I ordered a comfort economy with 30kg baggage and a 7kg cabin.
My question
Can i bring a personal bag? Inside is my laptop and my mobile devices. And 7kg cabin luggage?
Is 30kg okay for 1 28inch luggage or must be split?
Yeah the total is 3 bags
Sorry i just cannot get any info from etihad virtual assistance and no option to talk with agent
Hi everyone,
I’m moving abroad soon and I’m traveling with Etihad Airways and I have a 40kg checked baggage allowance plus 7kg cabin baggage.
I’m considering buying a small portable induction cooktop (around 40 bucks) and bringing it with me in my checked luggage.
Does anyone know if Etihad allows this? I couldn’t find a clear answer about kitchen appliances like induction cookers specifically.
Also, if it is allowed, do you think there are any issues with airport security or airline restrictions I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Ps : chatgpt tell me it’s ok but i want to know from real ppl if it’s really ok lol

My flight is on the 4th of June but looking at this, it doesn’t sound so good ☹️
Travelled BOM-AUH-FCO to and fro. All flights were normal and layover at Abu Dhabi was all business as usual.
BOM-AUH flight was codeshare with Akasa, which was suspended till 30th April. Was getting quite anxious since there were no indications as to whether Akasa would resume. But Akasa has restarted that flight from 1st May onwards and that went generally smooth, except a delay caused by traffic at BOM due to which we had to rush at AUH to catch the connecting flight.
Return flights were originally booked for 16th May 2300 hrs but it seems Etihad changed their flight scheduled and I was notified to pick an alternative flight about 3-4 weeks prior to the date of departure. Chose the flight at 1135 hrs for same day. Entire process was smooth.
Overall everything was normal.
I am one of those who had their travel plans disrupted by the war in the middle east in March 2026. Instead of flying via Abu Dhabi, my partner and I eventually travelled via New Delhi for four times the price.
Fortunately, my point of departure was in the European Union, therefore EU passenger rights apply, and I may be entitled to reimbursement for self-organised alternative transport in case of cancellation, even in the case of extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of the carrier.
Do any of you have any experience with enforcing such a claim? Did you contact Etihad directly, the passenger rights agency of your country, or a court? How long did it take? What did Etihad argue? Were you successful? How much did they pay?
I was thinking about cancelling the flight due to the middle east situation and was monitoring this subreddit on a daily base, since the official updates were almost non existant.
Flight was from ZRH-AUH-ICN and everything was fine.
The first flight was pretty full and the second had some empty seats. Transit in Abudhabi was fine and everything seemed as normal.
I had a second backup flight booked (fully refundable) with an other airline. I cancelled that and chose to fly with etihad as they have not extended their refund waiver past May 15th. I hope the whole situations stays stable and I can fly back as smoothly as I flew out.
I hope this helps anyone who is unsure about flying with etihad.
We booked seats on an Etihad flight and paid extra for specific seat selection. Without any email, SMS notification, Etihad swapped the aircraft type and reassigned us to seats 10 rows further back — seats we never chose and wouldn't have chosen.
We only found out when we checked our booking. No refund offered, no apology, no heads up. The person on the call ...kept saying it's similar..I kept telling him we didn't choose those seats refund the seat selection charges ?
Has anyone dealt with this before? Did Etihad make it right, or did you have to push hard? Any tips from people who've successfully escalated this would be hugely appreciated
Just had a layover at Abu Dhabi airport, everything went down normally. I was worried due to the current Middle East situation but it was no different than all my other layovers there. However, if you’re booking a flight with a 45 mins/ 1 hour layover in AUH, I would advise paying extra for category 1 or 2 seats,as it takes forever to just exit the plane if your seat is in the back. The airport is huge and we had to sprint trying to get to our gate while we were hearing final call. I don’t know if they would have waited for us if we took our time and didnt wreck our legs in the process but we didn’t want to take the risk.
Hey everyone,
I’m flying flight EY62 from London Heathrow to AUH, on an Etihad A380. What is the best choice of seat in the economy cabin in the pictures i’ve provided? i’m a window seat guy!
Thanks guys
I landed at AUH from YYZ to catch another connecting flight and I was able to go straight to the gate. There was no security check. Is this normal for connecting flights? Usually there is atleast one transfer screening but we got connected to a gate that took us directly to the gates.
Flying BOM - AUH - BOS tonight. A month ago, US pre-clearance was in-operational and travelers were redirected from C to E for entry at Logan.
Is it still the same?
I had a horrible experience with Etihad - thought I’d give them a try and booked LIS to BKK which showed Etihad flying this route and after two weeks they had a wet lease with an airline HiFly and downgraded the flight. Worse than Ryan Air.
I cancelled my tickets, took a loss and will never fly Etihad ever.
Etihad’s scam is to show they fly the route, you pay money upfront and after 2 weeks they show you that the carrier is Hi Fly wet lease aircraft - your flight and seats are downgraded. When you’re not happy that they downgraded you - you then proceed to cancel the tickets - They charge you cancellation fees (large amounts) then they offer discounts to new customers along with some offers to lure more people with the same scam.
After this incident I deleted the Etihad app and membership. And I strongly recommend my friends to choose Emirates over all other airlines in the Middle East.
Any news on refund waiver being extended?
After a few hours on that horrific chatbot, got it confirmed that waiver won't be extended beyond 15 May. Updated link for waiver here: https://www.etihad.com/en/manage/flight-status#travelupdates-item-9a591af9a6. What a joke of an airline. Personally i've opted for cancellation and loss of cancellation fee.
Hey everyone,
I have an Etihad Airways travel credit worth 2500 AED that I’m looking to sell at a discount.
I refunded a flight and mistakenly selected Etihad Credit instead of a refund to my original payment method, so I don’t actually need the voucher.
