My last shave with Captain Nemo's Shepherd WoolFat Lavender wasn't great with my Boar. Okie said to try a synthetic next time, and I found the Pearl SBB A11 Synthetic while looking for a green handle brush for my Vetiver shaves. It was super cheap, so I grabbed it.

Used it with the Shepherd WoolFat today. It picked up a ton of soap and made a huge lather when I face lathered. The bristles are a bit scrubbier than my Yaqi Synthetics, but for the price, I can't complain. It's got hardly any backbone, which is perfect for face lathering.

It doesn't hold lather for a second pass, so you have to load it again. I think that's good for using up soaps, so I'm calling it "Goblin The Soap Killer."

The Razor + Blade combo was awesome. It took care of a week's growth in two passes with almost no alum sting, giving me a BBS shave.

Was browsing Amazon website and stumbled upon R41 replacement head being sold for 2890 vs whole R41 Razor for 4999.

AFAIK the R41 handle is brass handle like all other handles that we have eg Parker, Romer etc.

So does paying 2k extra for handle makes sense (considering we don't need branding on handle)?

While organizing my shaving cabinet, I discovered Captain Nemo's The Shepherd Lavender shaving soap and decided to try it. As I had a week and a half's worth of beard growth, I selected the Telstar, which is known for its efficiency in managing heavy beard growth with minimal effort. I paired the Telstar with a Dorco Klass blade.

My brush of choice was the Omega Boar. The lavender fragrance of this soap was mild to my nose, and it required a generous loading with the boar brush to produce a satisfactory lather for the shave.

Overall, I achieved a good shave with two passes, against the grain and across the grain. Regarding the Dorco Klass blades, I found them suitable for a single shave before needing to be discarded.

I complemented the aftershave with a Lavender & Vetiver face mist, followed by Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme as my fragrance for the day. This is a playful fragrance that evokes the feeling of a barbershop, despite not being a traditional barbershop scent.

Just opened a new Nemo's Shepherd soap that I got in late Feb this year. The texture seems odd and soap feels bit spongy to touch not like other Nemo soaps.

Also, in past 2 of my Nemo's old soap have gone bad so not sure if this current soap has a feel like this or it a bad batch/expired soap. Any suggestions?

Wanted to try my hands on a Shavette so have ordered Rubab Men Shavette considering it uses full blade and avoids hassle of splitting blades in half. Is this a good Shavette to start the journey or would you suggest some other?

Also, the mildest blade suggestion to pair with Shavette and any tips for first timer.

I am thinking Voskhod as blade of choice.
