Baltany quartz chrono, an interesting take on the Type A Flieger

Baltany quartz chrono, an interesting take on the Type A Flieger

A few things I really like:

Choosing a cleaner two-register layout and putting the date at 6 was a smart move. With the dark green sunburst dial, the whole thing just looks great in the metal.

The cross-knurled crown is a nice touch too. It gives the watch a more rugged feel, and the grip is actually excellent when use it. The lume is also better than I expected for a non-dive chronograph.

A couple of nitpicks:

Still no quick-release spring bars, which is a bit annoying. Baltany seems to skip them on quite a few models for some reason.

And while the knurled crown looks and feels great, I do wish it was signed.

This piece is noticeably thinner than my Steeldive. It's actually pretty rare to see an NH35 case slimmed down to 11.5mm, especially since most Steeldive and Pagani models sit around the 13mm mark.

The transition from the brushed case to the polished sides is just excellent. The finishing honestly makes it feel like a much more expensive watch. Another interesting detail is the "Baltany" engraving on the inner rehaut. It’s a cool Rolex-style touch that you don't see very often, but I actually think it's a bit unnecessary since you can barely even notice it anyway.

Bought this 2 months ago and it’s currently dominating my wrist time. Honestly surprised this watch doesn't get more hype.

The pie-pan dial gives off strong Omega vibes, but it instantly reminded me of the Orient Bambino. The Bambino is great, but it’s starting to feel a bit dated. The S4101 nails that vintage look while feeling much more premium and fresh. Also, the hardened polished case is a game-changer—still holding up perfectly.

The only downside is that I got the manual-wind version to keep it super thin, but the crown is small and a little slippery, making winding a bit of a chore. Still, for the price, this is easily one of the most competitive entry-level dress watches out there.
