Polerouter homage?

Polerouter homage?

Hey Baltany - I have been lurking on this sub for a while to keep tabs on the upcoming Polerouter homage. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I’m curious - are you looking into stone dial variants at all? If yes - is it possible to slice and merge four pieces of stone in different grain orientations like the new reboot to achieve that sector dial effect? What Breitling did here is stunning. I am sure this would come with a slight premium but to me, it’d be worth it.

Thanks!

Baltany WW l Trench Watch

Do you think Nato straps fit this elegant tranch WW I watch?

I am adding both original, and AI created photos.

Do you get your mechanical watch serviced?

I’ve never owned a mechanical watch before. Do many other people actually get them serviced and if so how often?

I think Baltany watches are great but I’m worried that the service price is going to be a fair chunk of the purchase price.

My review of the Baltany Constellation s4106

Hey guys, just finished reviewing this beauty. Baltany really nailed this one 🤯

I genuinely think this is one of the nicest affordable dress watches I’ve tried in a long time. Very vintage Omega Constellation Pie Pan vibes, honestly even more appealing than the current models imo. The proportions are fantastic at 36mm x 9.7mm, the top hat sapphire looks amazing in person, and the dial has way more depth and character than I expected.

Also really surprised by how refined the whole watch feels. The Miyota 9015 keeps it thin, it has a custom rotor, great finishing, and even surface hardening.

If you like watches like the Orient Bambino or even the Nomos Club Campus style, this one is seriously worth checking out. You’re saving yourself a lot of money if you don’t care too much about having a traditional luxury brand name on the dial.

Baltany S6083, great Grand Seiko GMT alternative

This is the baltany I bought last year. The mix of brushed and high polish bevels easily matches my San Martin, and it honestly looks like it should cost way more. That ceramic bezel is beautiful with crisp engraving, and the 24 click action is incredibly satisfying for tracking dual time zones. Even though I bought this watch out of pure appreciation rather than for actual work, it is a joy to use.

My only minor gripe is that the bracelet edges feel a bit sharp, so it does not quite have that rounded luxury feel of real Zaratsu polishing. But the overall finishing is unmatched and I'm satisfied with it.

Obligatory s4106 post

I don’t think it’s a review because I’ve only had it for a couple of hours. But wow I love this watch. I really liked the original release but I knew I had to have this one when I saw the dated 36mm. And then my amazing parents got this for my birthday this year. It’s my first miyota 9series so I’m excited to see how it performs over time.
This was is way better looking in person, and I love it online. They nailed the height on the domed sapphire crystal. And the clarity kinda blows my mind. The ar coating works great. I’ll post another more in depth review after a while seeing how it holds up. But for now I love it.

Finally brought this nautical Baltany to the seaside

I have been wanting to wear it out here for a while haha. Just happened to be passing by the beach today.

For me, It feels like a mix of bronze tool watch vibes, a rounded vintage case profile, and a dial that gives off some Tudor style vintage diver energy. The bronze bezel and dial just vintage nautical. And that sapphire with the AR coating makes everything legible.

But it is not an actual dive watch. It has 200m water resistance but lacks a rotating bezel for timing dives. Still, for the price, it is an great daily piece!

After dealing with a Bambino mineral crystal, I really appreciate sapphire on my Baltany

The dial has that vintage dress watch feel, but what really sold me is the double-domed sapphire crystal with strong AR coating. My Bambino only came with mineral crystal, and I actually tried replacing it. Long story short, my tools were not right for the taller crystal, my 3D printer was broken, and I ended up removing the old mineral crystal in a pretty ugly way... Would not recommend.

So yeah, getting sapphire from the factory is a big plus for me now. Another thing I like is the hardened case coating, which makes sense on a polished dress watch since hairline scratches show up so easily.

Baltany quartz chrono, an interesting take on the Type A Flieger

A few things I really like:

Choosing a cleaner two-register layout and putting the date at 6 was a smart move. With the dark green sunburst dial, the whole thing just looks great in the metal.

The cross-knurled crown is a nice touch too. It gives the watch a more rugged feel, and the grip is actually excellent when use it. The lume is also better than I expected for a non-dive chronograph.

A couple of nitpicks:

Still no quick-release spring bars, which is a bit annoying. Baltany seems to skip them on quite a few models for some reason.

And while the knurled crown looks and feels great, I do wish it was signed.

Engine-turned vs. Smooth vs. Fluted, which bezel are you picking?

I didn't know engine-turned bezel before this Baltany release. I usually prefer smooth bezel, but I am so glad I went with this one. It catches the light just right—plenty of personality, but not as loud as a fully fluted bezel. Combined with the linen dial and incredible crystal clarity, it looks like a much more expensive watch!

My only real critique is the clasp. I know the stamped clasp is a deliberate vintage touch, but a solid milled option would have been great.

Still, this bezel was a huge pleasant surprise. Which bezel you guys prefer?
