Second time catching this old warrior!

Also caught a nice mirror.

If one-nighters were always that productive...😆

Quick 4-night session

So far I've caught 2 grass carps at ~1m and one common carp at 32 pounds.

Hopefully the 2 nights ahead of me are also lucky.

Release of the pond monster

Caught that 35 pounder in a 0.4 acre puddle.

Never thought there would be a fish like that in there😅

I need help with my old lady!

After spawning this old lady started being way too calm.

She's rarely in the deeper spaces of the pond and isn't swimming much.

Spawning was 2 weeks ago so I really start to worry about her.

She's 21 years old and never had any problems.

I took the video a day after they finished spawning and the behavior hasn't really changed since.

Good thing is she's still eating.

Estimated weight of that grass carp?

Caught that nice grassie a few months ago. Sadly didn't weigh or measured him. What would be your guess? Only thing I'm sure about is that he's easily 1m+

Last weekend's session

A quick input from my last weekend session.

Some small wels catfish, a pike and 2 small common carps wanted to bite.

water temperature reached 29 °C

First full year with my enlarged pond and my new filter.

So far the water quality is awesome and the fishes are very happy in their new environment!

My venue for the next few years

So far I've managed to catch about 150 carp there in roughly 40 nights since last year.

Best ones out of them were a Mirror at 59.5 pounds and a common at 58.9 pounds.

The lake holds a little bit more than 125 acres and luckily is just a 30 minute drive away from me.

I've heard rumours about 85+ pound carp so I guess I'll have to keep fishing there for a while 😆

The difference between spring and summer

I absolutely love this time of year.

Watching the plants grow makes everything seem so peaceful.
